Re: Faulty results in Word and others
Now that makes the whole thing even stranger. I'm not making this up. I have tried it out a lot of times. Edit: I just tried it on my laptop too where I have Office 365 whereas on my PC I have Office 2016. Same result. Then I tried to actually install the font rather than testing it via the F5 funct...

Re: Faulty results in Word and others
Unfortunately I don't. But I'll try to recreate it when I get the chance.

Re: Faulty results in Word and others
Thank you, but I have changed things around and got it to work by now. What did the trick was putting the affected rules in a separate subtable. It's funny, the rules are still in the same position as they were before, only in an extra subtable. I don't really understand why, but it works.

Faulty results in Word and others
Hi everyone! I'm having a very strange problem. I'm making a cursive school font. It has many versions of each letter, depending on what comes before and after, so it really turns out the way we teach the letters to the kids. I've set up lots of Chained context substitution rules and in the Font Cre...

Re: Settings for PostScript font
I did. There are no issues left but off curve extremes, and some I just can't avoid without messing up the outline too much.
But I also have those in my TrueType font and it never caused any problems.

Settings for PostScript font
Hi again! As I said in the other thread about the distorted small dots I'm doing my font with cubic curves now. I'm mostly gonna use this font in Corel Draw which has a docker that shows a glyph preview. With my previous font in TrueType format that worked fine. But when I export as PostScript, the ...

Re: Small Dots Distorted
Ah, okay, I see, thanks.
Well I'll have to take the challenge. I'll get there eventually, it's just a lot more work than expected. But as long as it can be done, I'm alright.

Re: Small Dots Distorted
Phew. This project grows and grows because then I need to manually fix all the outlines that get distorted again when turned into a quadratic curve.
What happens if I leave intersecting outlines? What would that do in the finished and exported font?

Re: Small Dots Distorted
So I'm making my dots with cubic curves now. That way I get the best result. I will also be redoing the existing font so as not to mix up different outline types in a font family. But I'm having a new problem now. I have glyphs with intersecting outlines. When I click "Get union of contours&quo...

Re: Small Dots Distorted
Okay, thank you both once again. I'm glad that there IS a way to get decent dots, although I'm afraid importing will never bring good results, even when I change the type of curves. So I guess I'll have to do it the hard (hard) way and copy/paste a good dot and place them all (all!) manually. :shock...

Re: Small Dots Distorted
I found another font that has small dots and I imported it so I can compare. That font has only 1000 units per em and the dots are 20x20 and yet they are very good. Looking at the connection lines between the points, they are different though. The left one in the screenshot is one of mine, the right...

Re: Small Dots Distorted
Thank you, PJMiller, but there's just too many dots in every glyph to do it that way. Also, I just realized that it doesn't only happen when I import a glyph. Even when I draw a circle directly in FC, I get the same bad result. Even when I increase the units per em to 8192. I tried the recent FC ver...
