Re: True type font becomes otf in Windows
Thank you Bhikkhu, that worked perfectly. I guess my projects have been defaulting to .otf from the beginning, so great to know how to override that.

True type font becomes otf in Windows
Hello. I have Fontcreator v 12.0.0 running on windows 10. My problem is that I'm unable to install any new font I make with a .ttf extension in Windows. They all become .otf when I check properties in the installed font file. My steps in FontCreator : In the new project menu I select .ttf. In export...

Glyph Properties Dialogue Box
The two numbers at the very bottom of this dialogue box, what do they represent? The ones between Less/More and Apply. I have two identical characters, same dims/LSB/RSB/etc (same because I copied and pasted). Yet they differ now in these numbers... The new one will not accept a subscript modifier, ...

Re: Font Direction Hint Setting
I can't do that, they're custom characters in the private use range (this case ED00 ...). So I need to know what field/value these text engines read that tells them font direction. There's no unicode subrange in private use area devoted to RTL so something besides codepoint itself must relay this in...

Re: Font Direction Hint Setting
Any suggestions of what I can do in fc to get a text layout engine to recognize RTL direction? Change a panose value?
Font in question contains non-connecting rtl characters (like Hebrew for example). I've tried deselecting anything identifying characters as Latin but nothing is working.

Font Direction Hint Setting
Please tell me where the font direction hint setting lives now in 11.5 pro edition. Need to set font as right to left and below info references an old version I assume - I see no option under properties. Thanks.

Re: Trouble with drawing curves
OK thanks much. Are those red star icons showing clicking something you added to your video or part of the program? I don't get them in mine.
Also please direct me to where I can see the proper names of the various circles, green/gray/red. Are they called handles? Thanks again.

Trouble with drawing curves
Hello Bhikkhu. I watched your tutorial on drawing contours using capital P as example, thanks for posting it. I must be a particularly bad beginner though because I can't reproduce what you showed. I can get to the third point in the outside contour (beginning point, 2nd point top at of vertical lin...

Re: Thick strokes in different sizes
Solved! Thank you Bhikkhu! I'm new at this and didn't even know about hinting - I never searched help under that term. Also I've never exported a font, just used the install option. After saving auto hinting setting, will installing keep hinting like exporting? Also thanks re attachments, totally mi...

Thick strokes in different sizes
Hello. New to forum and this is my first post. For custom fonts is there a fix for over-thick strokes in different sizes? In MS Word/Excel for example, top strokes of E and F show too fat in sizes 9 and 11, middle strokes too fat in size 10 but top strokes OK. Not until 12 does everything even out, ...
