It does indeed appear that the name was too long. After several failures, I chopped it down to Goudy-SmCap and also changed the version string in the Font revision field and was successful. I am unsure whether it is the shorter name or the updated version string that made it work, but it IS working ...

I have made an attempt to create a Goudy Old Style font for use in Finale in FontCreator 11.5. the font displays correctly, but when I print the music file to .pdf through AdobePro 2017, I get the following error codes: %%[ ProductName: Distiller ]%% %%[ Error: GoudyOldStyleSmallCaps-Bold not found....
