Awesome Font Character Merge in FontCreator
v. 14.0.0.2901 Dear forum members, I am currently working on a project involving merging several Awesome Regular, Solid and Brand fonts to create a single custom font. I am looking for advice on how best to proceed with FontCreator. My questions are as follows: What are the steps to import and merge...

Re: Underlining
Bonjour, Bhikkhu Pesala.
Serif proposes to work around this by exporting from PagePlus as a PDF, then importing the PDF into Affinity.
I understand what you mean.I have two decades of work that I won’t be transferring to other software in the foreseeable future.

Re: Underlining
Hello, Bhikkhu Pesala. (Your fonts are very interesting. Are they allowed to be used for free in a commercial publication? You also mention PagePlus: note that it is now replaced by the Affinity Suite.) To return to the question of this discussion, you state that ‘ Most software will use these value...

Underlining
Hello to all, I’m wondering about underlining. In most software, it is presented as a style on the same level as Regular, Bold, Italic, and Bold Italic. underline.png However, each of these styles corresponds to a font except for the underline. The latter is defined by the thickness and position par...

Re: Empty search list
The fact that the software freezes when no characters are entered is of course also an important malfunction.

Re: Empty search list
This is, of course, the explanation, but it is neither consistent nor the usual way of working. The absence of characters should display everything.
See for example how Microsoft’s Fonts software behaves under the same circumstances.

Empty search list
Hello everyone, When you launch the search for a sequence (for example symbol) and then delete this sequence in the search box, the list of fonts displayed is empty instead of having all the fonts. It is as if the validation of the search could not be done on an empty sequence which corresponds, how...

Font format required for a website
Hello everyone, I would like to use a font on a web page. Is it still necessary to systematically use the three usual font formats (WOFF2, WOFF, TTF)? Why? For example, for the Segoe Historical font, we used to be advised to use the following CSS lines: @font-face { font-family: "seguihis"...

WWS Family
This question has still not been answered! The explanations provided in the FontCreator help by typing WWS in the help are non-existent. It only says: WWS Family The WWS Family name * WWS Subfamily The WWS Subfamily name * The asterisk refers to a link on the Microsoft site. This link talks about so...

Re: WWS Family
I should add, FontForge talks about PFM families, a feature I didn’t find in FontCreator. Could it be the same thing? The PFM¹ Family is used when generating PFM files and classifies the font into some rather broad categories (Serif, Sans, Monospace, Script, Decorative). ¹PFM = Font Metrics Format f...

WWS Family
Hello everyone. There is a field named WWS Family Name and another WWS Subfamily Name. What does WWS mean and what does it correspond to? In what kind of Windows fonts can we find these values? Thanks for your explanations. additionalnames.jpg In the documentation, there is a reference to an outdate...

Re: Symbol font style
Here is what it looks like in Maintype 11 with the free Microsoft fonts having the sequence ‘symbol’ in their name.
