Re: Please provide a fail-safe for deleted fonts
Yeah, what they suggest is to make frequent backups. Unfortunately, they've made creating a backup extremely counterintuitive, forcing the user to manually to go through a dozen or so steps each time, going back and forth between Maintype and FmsConfig. Suggested improvements: - Add a button in Main...

Remember Information Panel expand/collapse upon close
I keep the information panel open at all times, collapsing the sections I don't need to view. However, when I close the application, Maintype reverts to expanding all sections. So each time I open Maintype, I have to collapse all the sections again. Can you fix it so upon closing Maintype, It rememb...

Re: Preview and character map not displaying correctly
No, sir, not at all. Not even a computer restart (and complete shut down) changes anything.
Since nothing else seems to be working, wondering if something may be wrong with the font file itself? I've attached one of the font files for you. (It appears perfectly normal in the Windows font viewer.)

Re: Preview and character map not displaying correctly
Tried refreshing and it didn't fix. So I deleted the fonts, refreshed the folder, then added them back to MainType.
Unfortunately, it didn't change anything. Even tried refresh again after adding them back in.

Preview and character map not displaying correctly
The SAMPLE text appears normal, but the PREVIEW does not. And, even though the character map shows empty or distorted glyphs, when I click on one," it displays correctly in the ZOOM window.

Won't add fonts to library if ANY are "corrupt"
While adding fonts to my library, one of the folders had a 0 fonts added to the library. But there were over 200 fonts in that folder. There were no error messages while adding the fonts to the library. Rather, MainType appeared to have added all fonts successfully. I verified the font count on all ...

Re: Hide fonts from MainType (not remove)
Yes, this is true. I use the Professional version and have custom views. 1. That does not address my suggestion of hiding fonts that you never want to see. 2. Perhaps a more useful suggestion would be to provide a way to search only within predefined or custom views or only within certain groups. Cu...

Re: Please provide a fail-safe for deleted fonts
Yes, it does. But I do NOT want to restore the entire database/vault. I ONLY want to recover the ONE FONT that I accidentally deleted. With the current software, I would have to 1. Use the FMS Config utility to stop the service 2. Create a NEW backup 3. Restore from the old backup. 4. Restart the se...

Upgrading close to a major release?
If I upgrade from v10 to v11 today and a new release comes out in the next few months, will I automatically be upgraded to the new version or will I have to pay for another upgrade? I would like to purchase today, but after looking at the changelog and seeing that a major upgrade typically comes out...

Hide fonts from MainType (not remove)
It would be AWESOME to be able to hide (and unhide) fonts from the main view in MainType. This could include Windows system fonts or others you do not want to have to scroll through when looking at fonts, but you don't want to delete/remove, either. Perhaps the hidden fonts could become a "Pred...

Please provide a fail-safe for deleted fonts
There is currently NO FAIL-SAFE in place when deleting fonts from MainType. I have made the mistake multiple times, deleting either the wrong font or group of fonts and there is no way to get them back! Please consider using Windows Shell when fonts are deleted so that we can at least restore them f...

Re: Problems when importing font folders
FOLLOWUP TO MY OWN POST:
Don't know if this is the ONLY issue, but after opening three of the "BAD" files and removing the Vendor code, all three imported just fine!!!
This needs to be fixed! We have no control over what code the type designers use (one of them was "XXXX")!

Problems when importing font folders
When importing font folders, I noticed the numbers do not match up. So by a process of elimination, I discovered that Maintype does not like a few of the font files and will not import them. Rather than importing everything else and flagging the "bad" files, Maintype just stops importing a...
