Re: Can a font contain a virus?

So first off a font cannot BE a virus on its own. It is not a program that can be executed by a computer all by itself. It is data like an Image file. Now that being said, it is possible for a font to BECOME a virus when combined with either a bug or flaw in another program that loads the font file....

Just uncheck "Ranges" and it should accept glyph names that contain a hyphen.
Wow... such a simple solution! I did not even see that checkbox.

Re: Something is wrong with Ohmsign-grek..

Ok Bhikkhu, I think it's a bug :D or as we developers call them. "Unintended features".

Copy Glyph should probably add quotes to the glyph name, or maybe validate could add the quotes to all names during the validation.

Out of curiosity why would a hyphen be special?

Re: Something is wrong with Ohmsign-grek..

On a new font, File->New this issue exists. via Insert->Glyphs paste in, Ohmsign-grek. Hit validate it will say that it is in the font, but it is not. Without validate it just does nothing when inserting, no character added. via Insert->Characters, goto code point 8486, double click to add the chara...

Re: Something is wrong with Ohmsign-grek..

I should also say that i've noticed that Multi-Mapped characters do not copy. I didn't mention this as I'm not sure if Multi-Mapped characters are valid.

Something is wrong with Ohmsign-grek..

I'm having issues with some fonts when trying to copy characters from a regular it's Italic version in order to fix issues. My process is fix them in the regular, and then using the transformer to create the italic version. Overall I'm having issues copying about 200 characters at a time and I think...

Re: What fonts do you really admire?

Beautiful font!

is this yours?

2780 characters! So many.

I think I see a mistake on the hyphenminus though, unless that is intentional.

Re: Standardizing fonts, validate against a standard list of characters?

Thanks Bhikkhu!

Here is the script I created for Spanish.

For anyone else reading this. Modifying the xml scripts is quite easy. You just need the dec values for the characters you want to insert.

What fonts do you really admire?

For when you need to ask yourself:
What is the perfect example of this character? or How should my kerning look.

dotless i. Of course. bhikkhu, you should be super proud of FontCreator. It's a great program but it could use a few features to make it more obvious to us without a giant brain like you have :D. Would save you a lot of time answering dumb questions like those from me. - Give a bit more feedba...

I cannot figure out how to make Complete Composites Work for some characters.

Currently on one font it's working for some characters, but not others. I understand that it's bringing in the vectors from gravemod, caronmod, etc. Then sometimes (maybe) from tildecomb, dieresiscomb etc. This part is fairly easy to figure out. What I cannot figureout is how the base? characters wo...

Re: Where is Auto Complete Code Points?

Also if you use the copy paste, you have to delete the existing characters. This removes the Kerning for those characters in the kerning table.

Re: Where is Auto Complete Code Points?

I see my major issues are due to double mapped characters. Things like macron being mapped to the codepoints for macron and macronmod. This causes issues with copy paste.

Re: Where is Auto Complete Code Points?

Bhikkhu, in some of my fonts there are over 150 characters with unmapped code points. I saw the trick on cutting and pasting but there is a flaw in it. If there is a single character that does not have a valid glyph name it causes it to fail at that character. So if you copy 150 characters and paste...

Where is Auto Complete Code Points?

There is a Remove Code points, but I cannot find anything that will complete the code points by glyph name other than clicking on every single glyph individually?
