Trouble installing fonts with Vista
Quite some time ago I believe I saw a message on the forum about not being able to install fonts in Windows Vista. Is this true or did my eyes deceive me? I haven't tried to install a new font created in FC5.5 since I have purchased my new computer with Vista, so I'm not sure if this is true. If thi...

Trouble installing partial font
I only needed to design 4 characters in my font. I saved it and tried to install the font, but I'm getting an "Installation Failed" message. Do you need to complete a whole font set in order to install it, or can partially completed fonts be installed? Thanks! Frank

Bhikkhu, I do notice it now only when 2 fonts are open in the Overview Window when toggling back and forth between the Edit and Overview windows. Thank you! Erwin, thank you for noticing and for fixing the bug. This was really not a big problem for me, it was just something I noticed and thought I s...

Glyph Overview Trouble
When editing in the edit window and switching back to the Glyph Overview window the size of the glyphs gets knocked down a size or two and sometimes even down in half. It may do this several times when flopping back and forth between windows until it's half the original size. Then I have to go to Op...

Moving default horizontal guide
I would like to move the default black horizontal line that resides below the red base line. Can this be done? I cannot seem to move this manually as I can with horizontal guides that I create myself. The reason for wanting to move this guide further down is when I'm creating a lower case y or any o...

Editing existing installed fonts
It's easy to edit an existing installed font (not my own created font in Font Creator, but it gets difficult once it has to be saved and using the new edited font. FC saves the changes to the newly edited font, but when I go to use the font, the word program won't allow me too. Do I have to delete t...

Can you lock left bearing at 0?
I know you can lock guidelines, but when I want to keep my left bearing at 0, it keeps moving when I start creating a new glyph or paste in an image. I always have to check the "Set left side bearing point at X=0" box to reset it to 0. Is there any way to lock that left side bearing at 0? ...

Windows Fonts vs. Macintosh
I am strictly a PC Windows user and I am creating true type fonts exclusively using Font Creator 5.0. Since I have absolutely no knowledge of Mac computers or the type of fonts they use, what would I need to do with my existing True Type fonts I created in order for them to work with Mac computers? ...

Minimizing glyphs in Glyph Overview window
Is it possible to minimize the amount of unwanted glyph cells in the glyph overview window (such as the greek alphabet) and other cells that one may never use? Also, what cells would one place alternate characters in to? Thanks, Frank.

Can square points (or nodes) be changed to round and vice ve
When editing a glyph, I noticed there are square points (or nodes) and round ones. I was wondering if square can be changed to round and vice versa. Because on curves there will be a square point (node) and it makes the curve look very choppy or pointy at that point, making the curve not so smooth l...

Can hand painted fonts be scanned in?
Hi, I have just recently downloaded the trial version of Font Creator 5 and was wondering if I can scan my own hand painted fonts into the program to make my own fonts? I am a sign painter who still letters by hand and would like to transform my hand painted styles into computer usable True Type fon...
