Re: Added Number Forms to Range but does not show up in Mac but does in Windows
To be sure, you used Insert Characters to add this range: $2160-$2169 Correct Erwin Then you used Complete Composites to generate the outlines? No, I created new glyphs, only the first four as those were what I needed and left the other empty. I was able to resolve this problem by unchecking the &q...

Added Number Forms to Range but does not show up in Mac but does in Windows
I added Roman numerals set 2160 to 2169 but only the first four characters contain glyphs, the others are empty. Upon recalculating the range in the Range dialogue box, saving, exporting and installing in Mac, the Roman numerals were not listed. I then decided to Edit the range manually and ticked t...

Re: open type files not recognised by Progecad
Yes, thank you to both of you for your suggestions. I did notice that FC gives the option to save as .ttf in the save as dialogue. As usual, I had not seen it! You are right about Progecad ignoring OpenType features. Anyway, I reported the issue to Progecad and their developers are now working on a ...

open type files not recognised by Progecad
Progecad is a CAD program like Autocad but at a much lower price. I wanted to install one of my fonts to draw a clock face and discovered that although the font installed it was not being recognised as a valid font and continued to use one of the default Arial font that the program installs. After c...

Re: Has Anyone Created A Mathematics font?
I've just seen this subject and although 3 years old now I would like to add my inputs. As a physicist I know precisely what the question is about and I created a font with a lot of higher mathematical symbols. The problem is not the the symbols but how to enter them via the keyboard as easily as th...

Calt application should have option to apply by single letter rather than global
It would be very desirable to have the feature to apply the calt option in the preview panel not just globally but also by selected single letter.
Likewise, it may be useful to have the same option for the other OT tables.

Re: Disappearance of small letter i diacritics when clicking composite icon
The Latin alphabet written in the Carolingian script has a dotless small letter I. Indeed, all scripts before the Carolingian had a dotless I- Uncial, Rustic, Half-Uncial and all the others up to the Carolingian, Beneventan and Lombardic use dotless i. The dotless I started to appear with some Gothi...

Re: Name Table Structure error
Problem resolved. The Content section of the Descriptive Name of Stylistic alternates was empty. I just entered the same name as the font file name and the problem went away. Obviously I could have entered the name of the new style set, instead, and that would have solved the problem, too. Basically...

Re: Disappearance of small letter i diacritics when clicking composite icon
I appreciate your inputs but now I am more confused that before. The way I complete composites is by copying and pasting each glyph into a composite cell from the main character glyph. I also do this one at a time. Then I click on the complete composite icon just to call the relevant diacritic. This...

Name Table Structure error
When I install a font created with FC11 on an Apple machine I get a single error, which prevents the font from being installed. The error is identified as a "Name Table Structure" error. I suspect that it refers to one of the OpenType tables embedded in the file, but I have no idea how to ...

Tag View Panel
Hi, I am evaluating MainType.
I deleted the Tag View Panel on the LHS of the main display panel below the View panel. I am unable to find how to open it again. The manual does not help. Any help from the forum?

How ro decolorise a glyph
Accidentally I colorized a glyph. I want to remove the color to avoid redoing the glyph. Where is the decolourise command once I right click the glyph? Is it missing? The manual says that it should be there.
Is there another way of decolorizing the glyph without redoing it from scratch?

Disappearance of small letter i diacritics when clicking composite icon
There is a bug in the current version of FC. The problem is exclusively with the 4 character sets that define the small letter i with diacritics. When I pasted the glyph of the small letter i onto these four character cells and then complete the composite by clicking each character with the "Co...

Re: Use of [Calculate] button
As a marginal aside but still on the subject of metrics, because I mainly design calligraphic metrics and use metrics based on nib-width to define the height of Cap Height, ascenders and descenders, with x-height at 958 equivalent to x-nib-widths, I always do my composites manually. It is quick enou...
