Re: AutoMetrics & AutoKern Greek & Extended Greek characters ONLY?

Well, that's weird. My own suggestion in my last reply here seemed to make perfect sense to me, so I just tried it -- but autometrics seems to have no effect at all on either of the Greek character sets, they're still all monospaced (with the same bearings throughout, that I'd given them before). :...

Re: Right to Left Script

The only way to make a RTL font is to include characters that are defined as RTL. According to wikipedia there are over 20 scripts supporting RTL. If you're trying to invent another script supporting RTL, you will need to convince the Unicode consortium to adopt it. Only then Windows, Word, Mac etc ...

Re: Right to Left Script

For a font to work as intended, it requires characters with correct codepoints as defined by the Unicode consortium. All text processing engines rely on their information. As Bhikkhu Pesala suggested, you can position your glyph outlines to already defined RTL characters. Alternatively you could sta...

Re: How do you import an image from Inkscape

I followed your instructions for loading an SVG image from inkscape and neither importing from file nor copy/paste work for me. The original and the results are below. What am I doing wrong? Thank you. Thank you for reporting this issue and providing a sample SVG document. We've located the issue a...

Re: Fixing offset issues

I seem to have this memory of having read somewhere that it's not a good idea to have any composite glyphs at all, that it can cause issues in some software. Or something. I'm really not sure what it was that I read, or why that was the case, I just recall reading that one should avoid composites. ...

That's weird. I just got an email -- AND a notification on here -- that I had a reply to this thread from Bhikkhu, but I don't see anything from him, only my own last reply.
He might have posted a reply and then decided to delete it.

Re: Fixing offset issues

glyphproperties.png Although it is not required, most fonts have Offset set to 0 for all glyphs. Thus for all glyphs the left side bearing is at x=0. In general all glyph outlines are positioned between left and right side-bearing, so they have some space before and after the visual character. Howe...

You might want to consider using Diagonal Fractions.

Re: Nutso font doesn’t work correctly

in InDesign i have seen in the demo file that fraction looks correct, however, when I write the fraction normal like 1 1/33 I see a hangover like the pictures above the first post. @Bhikkhu yes when this would be work right. I see the dam... stacked fraction is a big problem. As noted in the Nutso ...

Re: Nutso font doesn’t work correctly

In Adobe Products the Nutso font doesn’t work correctly. Only Affinity Designer does it right. The Nutso font also requires the <mark> and <mkmk> features to be supported and active. It seems that is the issue with Adobe Illustrator. Not sure if you can enabled them to make it work. The github proj...

Re: Fixing offset issues

That is not what I meant. When you use Complete Composites on for example é it will replace the glyph with a composite glyph that consists of a base character e and the acute which will be placed above the base. If the resulting composite glyph has the diacritic mark in the wrong place, then you mig...
