Re: "Main database and vault signatures do not match or are invalid" error

I'm sorry about the inconvenience. Do a full uninstall, and then reinstall the font manager. This should fully reset MainType.

Re: Yes italic, no regular

You must have confused it. Magbe a reboot helps. Otherwse clearing the font cache might help. Did both -- same problem is still there. :( To be sure it isn't an issue with the fonts, do change the font family name, and then see if that family works fine. If it works fine, then the issue is not on o...

Re: Yes italic, no regular

Ah, thanks, Erwin! Stupid me, I had that checkbox for "Generate the following naming fields automatically (recommended)" checked off, so everything was grayed out and I guess I didn't notice it -- and now I do see that "Unique Font Identifier" field, too, of course (that I'd seen before). I'm just ...

Re: Correct display of font characters in font programs

Re: Moving fonts back in from Illustrator

That moght be an issue, but it is still easy to copyand paste from Fontcreator to AI and back. That should preserve size and position.

They won’t be out of alignment with version 11. Just make sure you have set your import vector settings correctly.

Re: Decimal codes in printing code pages

This is currently not something that can be changed.

The next upcoming major release will use the same settings as located on the Options -> Appearance tab.

Same goes for the Character Grid settings as available on the Options -> Characters tab.

Re: Is it possible to choose the writing orientation for a font?

The default orientation is defined by Unicode. You can ask them to include a new script. Easier is to abuse an existing script like Arabic or Hebrew. Alternatively there is a special right-to-left override character defined in Unicode ($202E) that instructs the text processor, rasterizer, or softwar...

I have done a trial by setting the checkbox on "JIS/Japan (932)" and turning off Auto Update on export, but no joy. I'm guessing that is what you meant by "manually set specific code page character ranges" ... is that correct? ... or is there something else to do ...
Yes, that is what i meant.

I've tried to make it work, but also failed. It might be worth a shot to ask at typedrawers.com.
