Re: Hinting Program problems

We usually provide upcoming updates to our beta testers, but with this release we did include several rare new enhancements which we would like to be tested through a public release. We don't expect issues, so we'll probably release an official update today or tomorrow. We might decide to release it...

Re: Hinting Program problems

Do try this update as it contains a more recent version of ttfautohint, but please be aware font project files will not be backwards compatible.

Single Stroke / Single Line / CNC Font Support

This update contains support for Unicode variation sequences, last resort fonts *, and single stroke fonts **. Due to a change in the font project data, the new projects will not be backwards compatible. The update is not available from the download page yet, but can be download from here: FontCreat...

Re: Which is a suitable script

What is represented by the two variables in Bold, in your case "Bold (50, 0)". I can't locate in the documentation what the two variables represent. They are Horizontal and Vertical values. See: ScriptCondensed2.png I've attached an updated script file. Here is how it transformed Roboto Bold to Rob...

Re: Which is a suitable script

A script that turns a regular font into a condensed font is the following:

Scale (50, 100)
Bold (50, 0)

You might need to do some tests before you decide what exact numbers work best for your font. After running it you need to change the Width from medium to Condensed.

Re: Name Table Structure error

Either provide a descriptive name that matches the specific alternates, or delete it.

Re: Name Table Structure error

Maybe it is because StylisticSet 1 has an empty descriptive name.

Can you look into this?

Re: Put Backups on a Network Drive

The current architecture of our font management solution doesn't allow this, so make the backup local, and then copy it to your network folder.

Re: WOFF 2.0 support

That is true, but not the same. SVG fonts are obsolete; all modern web browsers support WOFF. One of the three color formats uses SVG, and that is not obsolete, but we don't support it yet. FontCreator supports the other scalable color font format as shown in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watc...

Re: How ro decolorise a glyph

The undo command does the trick, unless you've made more changes after you colorized the glyph. Otherwise, right-click within the glyph edit window, and then click Color -> Decolorize. This option is only available in color mode. Decolorize.png If you need to decolorize multiple glyphs, do select al...

Re: Toggle Family Grouping - UI cutoff

Hi, I just switched from Extensis Suitcase Fusion to MainType, and I am loving it. My only regret is not discovering MainType sooner! The last couple of months we've seen a steady increase of people who moved away from other font managers, and are now using MainType. So welcome! We've made some mor...

Re: Font issue in Word 2016

You should consider using the correct Unicode code points for the Astrological symbols. E.g. Sun $2609.

Not all your glyphs have a corresponding mapping, but this list might help:

Re: Font issue in Word 2016

I just noticed a serious issue with this font. It contains both Unicode and Symbol code points, but you are not allowed to mix them. Since your font is a Symbol font you have to assign symbol code points to the glyphs, in this range 0xF000 - 0xF0FF. I did mention this is my first reply  The ea...

Re: Font issue in Word 2016

The Unicode font shows exactly the same as your Symbol font when I test it in Word 2016. Can you also share the Unicode font, so I can look into it as well?
