I think there are 3 shaping engines that are used in the last years, a default one, a composer, and Harfbuzz. Not sure if all use the same metrics.

Not really, but I am sure there are situations where it no longer matches. Probably when used in Adobe software...

I am afraid it will only work if you use the calculate button, but then most likely all values are updated. We will see if we can implement such enhancement in the future.

The next update will also move the anchors, but even then glyph outlines with components need attention.

FontCreator 15 has a button that calculates the values. It is mostly based on the suggestions from the tutorial.
