Distributing fonts with VB Software product
Hi, I have successfully created several fonts that are extremely useful for a VB Software product that I hope to market. I have two questions. 1) have purchased a PC Laptop for demos of this product. It is really just a portable development environment. The product has come up fine. How do I install...

Thanks, Again,
Bhikkhu,
That sounds like me. Of all the possible numbers in Unicode, I should just pick out of the air some addresses that are reserved.
Peace,
hugh

What is functional within a unicode range or code page?
Bhikkhu, I tried your suggestion about using Unicode Ranges and Code pages and it still did not work. I noticed that MS Arial TTF uses Arabic characters close to the Unicode range that I was using. I brought Arial into Creator and found out what Unicode Ranges and Code Pages it was using and set my ...

Thanks Bhikkhu
Bhikkhu, That is great! I am at work right now so will not be able to try it until tonight. But you have been right on, all along. This should carry me for a while. These fonts are a critical component of the software I am trying to implement. So your help has been greatly appreciated. Thanks, Hugh

Mapping new Glyphs above the 654 in default Creator font
This is follow on to a previous question about exceeding the 654 Glyph positions of the default. The response to that was to simply use the Add New Glyph menu option. That worked great I have added another 600 Glyphs making 1200 + glyphs. Now I am trying to map them. I select and right click on one ...

Bhikkhu, Thanks again. You were a big help in getting me started in this font world almost six months ago when I did not know anything. Now this is a big help once again, when I know a little bit more. This will keep me going for a while I believe. This Font Creator is exactly what I need for my app...

How do I get past the 653 Glyph default limit
I have a font that consists of unique symbols for a program that I am developing. I have successfully used the existing procedures of the Font Creator to create each glyph adding it to the default font that you get when you do a FILE NEW, give a Font Name while selecting Unicode. This process gives ...

Eliminating white in intersecting contours or Fill option
Hi,
Is there any easy way to fill the white out area that happens when two contours intersect?
Is there an option to prevent this from happening or a feature to easily fill it in?
I noticed that it does not seem to happen when you use contours from the sample toolbar.
Thanks,
Hugh

Contours filled with patterns and allowed to intersect
Erwin, I believe that it would be useful to have an option on new contours to have them filled with a selected set of patterns instead of just black. This idea goes along with another request to have an option that when two contours intersect that the active contour keeps its color or pattern throug...

Chris, I do not have any experience with other font design software but I agree with you comments and opinions about Font Creator. I was thinking of suggesting a new feature request when I saw yours. It is kind of related and may be for the same reasons as yours. I was thinking of new feature simila...

Thanks Bhikkhu and Vanisaac
Hi Bhikkhu and Vanisaac, I just wanted to really thank both of you. I have a fairly significant background in all kinds of computer programing. But to be honest this business of fonts was snowing me. There were so many terms that I did not know (even conceptionally). With the two of your help, I hav...

Thank you very much Bhikkhu. You have been extremely helpful, informative and encouraging. I need to learn so much. I was especially ignorant about Unicode standards. It was just a tag necessary for creating fonts via the Font Creator. The links that you included on your previous responses and a loo...

Erwin, Thanks, I think I understand and agree. I really have no wish to modify and use an existing font. Since I am so new and ignorant of so much about fonts, it helps to have a working font and to make changes to see how they work. But that is just for testing and learning purposes. My fonts would...

Need font that displays greater than 256 symbols or glyphs
I have read with great interest discussions about using fonts for languages like Japanese or Chinese. I have also read mention of a high byte that makes these complicated languages possible using fonts. I do not have a need for any foreign language but I do have a great need for a font that would al...
