Re: Character fit within merged cells in Excel

I was using PDFill.
I did try CutePDF but there was no improvement.
I printed to xps and this was better but I haven't found any suitable PDF printer.

Re: Character fit within merged cells in Excel

Erwin As stated in the original post, the issue is in the printed PDF. You know that Excel will give variable graphic output. Look, I know that it is a difficult and unique issue, and you may not be able to solve it. If you can't solve upon considering above, please refer me to any literature or ano...

Re: Character fit within merged cells in Excel

To illustrate the issue.
Compare Courier New with PT Mono. Courier New is an established Microsoft font. PT Mono has the same issue as my font.

Attached:
- Excel workbook.
- PDF printouts.
- PT Mono font file.

Re: Character fit within merged cells in Excel

Erwin I presume all your installed fonts are those provided by Microsoft. In which case this is what I'm trying to say in the original post, the issue is not there not there with the established fonts. With my own font, started from a blank template, I am having issues. And I also note the same issu...

Re: Character fit within merged cells in Excel

What font are you using?
If it's your own font, is it based on a template from and established font?

Re: Character fit within merged cells in Excel

No I don't believe it is an issue in Excel.
It is the font as I have tested hundreds of different types of fonts and the issue seems to be with the less established fonts, rather than with, say, fonts shipped with Microsoft products.

Character fit within merged cells in Excel

I am working on this font and have noticed that some of the end characters do not within the merged cells in Excel. In the case I have attached, part of some characters are truncated on the right boundary (the green line is the border of merged cells in Excel). Sometimes I have issue where the chara...

Re: Composite glyph location not equal to parent glyph

Please just state that it's not possible. Making suggestions as to improve workflow is not constructive. The issue is that I may come back to the work at a much later stage and overlook updating ... as intuitively you would expect the software to take this into account. Sorry to be critical ... I th...

Composite glyph location not equal to parent glyph

I have some composite glyphs ... some of the capitals in the Greek alphabet. The shape is the same as the parent glyph, all good here. But the location is not the same. The Left and Right bearings specifically. Why does this occur? Note: I have made modifications to the parent glyph after pasting as...

Glyph info - all at once

Is there a menu item which shows or exports all the glyph data.
Specifically I am looking for Left and Right bearings, Glyph width.

Re: Reduce font width but keep stem width

I need to keep the bold because I need the stem width to be the same.
Incidentally, what is the significance of the integers in the script. Is it a relative or a fixed change? Try to explain to me what the number 25 means in "Bold (25, 0)".

Re: Reduce font width but keep stem width

This is what it looks like after point 4.
It doesn't seem to work. Am I doing something wrong.

NOTES
- In 2. I assume "Shift + right x ten" means "Shift + right" ten times.
- In 6. What's the purpose of pasting back the original contour? And undoing, this confuses me even further.
