Almost there...

okay once Scanahand gets improved metrics and the auto kern feature I think it's almost there..... however one feature would be AWESOME.... maybe only in the super premium edition: AUTO LIGATURES !!!! the scanned template has is twice as long and has each character twice (or up to four times for the...

Scanahand 3 - a little underwhelmed.

honestly the only feature I really dig is that I can set a font style now. And I mean really dig..... the improved trace algorhythm isn't that much better and I'm still missing a (even if VERY basic) kerning editor. If it had a new algo called HYPER that simply gets rid of all those raggedy edges - ...

Re: distance between two lines of text

actually it was something else.

I must've switched the font size to 200% and that makes the difference.

Now - with the exact same template and using 100% - everything's fine.....

[FALSE POSITIVE] AVG found a virus in Scanahand

Hi,

AVG today found something called THEMIDA in the scanahand.exe.....
I'm guessing this is a copy protection thing but wanted to make sure.

distance between two lines of text

Hi, I have this issue where different fonts have a different difference between two lines of text (see screenshot) http://img210.imageshack.us/img210/9673/unbenannt1mm.png the first example is particularly bad since both lines overlap I'm using Photoshop and yeah I can choose a different value and n...

Re: Trace Preview

Erwin,

thanks for that.... the option+arrow method was new to me and is PRETTY DAMN QUICK

I can live with that until you implement an amazing auto kern feature :)

Re: Trace Preview

I think auto kerning would be a great improvement, although people should be aware that several word processing applications don't support it, or don't have it turned on by default. wooooohooooooo - cool. I'm only using fonts in Photoshop though (I think Calibri is good enough for Thesis Papers) d'...

Re: My first fonts

Hi Erwin,

I'm not sure yet....

I was thinking about selling them for €5 or €10 per family on myfonts.com
But maybe I'll keep them just for myself. I'm a GUI designer and it's always good to have some fonts that nobody else has.

I might upload some for free in the future though

Re: Trace Preview

yes this is one of the things scanahand could learn from ScanFont the tracing preview and the tracing options. (but maybe only in a PRO edition - I'd pay for that - or switchable so that it can stay as easy to use as it is now for beginners and can be more elaborate for POWERusers) this PLUS a good ...

Re: My first fonts

Hey Joe (sorry had to do it)

thanks... yeah it's super fun. Scanahand is a good fit for me.... I tried using a graphics tablet but I'm just so much better with a pen.
there are still to enhancements I'd like to see but apart from that I love it.

Re: My first fonts

Hi Dick,

thanks

wasn't even that much work....

some of the fine tuning was but the rest was easy...

it's basically just three complete 2 page templates....
for the different variations I used photoshop to edit the scanned pages
