Re: Kerning import failed at Font Creator 8.0 (few errors)
Unfortunately FontCreator 8 can no longer read the old kerning script format that was used for FontCreator 5 and 6. The easiest way to get your kerning to work in FontCreator 8 is to open an existing font containing your kerningp pairs (or create a simple font in FontCreator 5) and open this font in...

MainType 6.0 is here!
We've just released MainType version 6!, adding font tagging, font folder synchronization and an improved registry fixer. The standard edition allows you to manage up to 10,000 fonts. If your font library hits that limit, you will need the professional edition. The professional edition of MainType c...

Re: Necessary Vault Files?
Do NOT delete those vault files, they contain your fonts! The reason that they are so "old" is because that once they reach a certain threshold (1GB) they are finalized and a new file is created. If you want to move them to a different drive or partition, use the FMSConfig tool. You're pro...

Unsupported OpenType Layout Features
This post has been updated so it shows FontCreator 9 support! Unlike other font editors, FontCreator supports all OpenType Layout features. However there is one thing missing: Device Tables Do let us know if you want us to support that too. Please post in the FontCreator Request and Enhancements for...

Re: Adding Automatic Opentype Features with FC pro 8.
This bug has been fixed and will be available in the upcoming maintenance release. While I was at it I also added the default script "default.otlfd" to the list of user-editable files in the userdata folder.

Re: Volt and FontCreator
Ok, I'm gonna attempt to add volt project support to FontCreator before the next maintenance release, however we had to make a few decisions to ensure there's enough time to implement it: - No subgroup support in FontCreator - Volt data in a font has priority over OpenType Layout Feature Tables - Yo...

Re: Problems with KERN Tables
There's a physical limitation to what can be stored in the 'kern' table and currently FontCreator exports only a few predefined ranges from the Latin/Default OpenType Features if a kern feature is found: $0000 - $024F $0370 - $04FF $1E00 - $206F We could provide a user-editable file (in user data fo...

Re: Volt and FontCreator
This is extremely exciting that FontCreator has implemented fully OT features. I use currently FontCreator 5.6 Professional. I downloaded the trial of version 8 and it looks like it was implemented incredibly well! Thank you! Good to hear! But this leads me to my problem. I have a ton of fonts I cr...

Re: Glyph Substitution
Not all applications support opentype features, or they may not be enabled by default. If you want to test your script, I recommend testing it in your webbrowser as a webfont. Simply press CTRL+F5 from within fontcreator to create a demo page to view and test your features.
