Composite characters with a single macron above
Morning everybody I just read some topics posted by Ulaping about: "inserting diacritics". I hope he has figured out that problem. Now, my dear friends out there, how could I make a long macron, i.e. a macron that covers for two combining characters? I have managed to figure out the proble...

Re: Insert a new character in Traditional Arabic font
Ok Van, does this mean that I have to use another table, i.e. I cannot use the table designed specifically for the Traditional Arabic? By the way, I think it also related to the specific group characters, i.e. if I could change or add some some characters in the portion for Arabic charactersit might...

Insert a new character in Traditional Arabic font
Dear all I am trying to include a new character into Traditional Arabic font's table. The character is Jawi letter namely as Ghaa' (Arabic leter Ain with 3 dots above: 06A0). It works as Arabic letter Ain (0639, FEC9, FECA, FECB & FECC), except this new letter has three dot above; in other words...

Re: Two Arabic characters connected together
Huhhh... I think its complicated already- need to study more about the OpenType substitutions (just because of 1 character?). Anyway, does this has been included in the User Manual of Font Creator? By the way, about Microsoft VOLT- its very hard to learn, not user friendly (well I admit that Font Cr...

Re: Two Arabic characters connected together
Afternoon Vanisaac and thank you very much for your prompt reply. I am very sorry for this late reply, I just came back from my holidays- Eid celebration. Ok, your explanation sounds well to me, but what is the right mapping in the font. I cannot put all the mappings (0644064e200d0627) for a charact...

Re: Two Arabic characters connected together
Dear friends, thank you a lot for the explanation, but I dont understand it- its too complicated for me (I am not a programmer). Anyway, I think it must be a way in the Font Creator to solve the problem. Just have a look at the Arabic letter Lam 0644 (it also Arabic letter Lam isolated form), when i...

Two Arabic characters connected together

Ok, Van, I solved my problem. I use the dead keys as what has been taught by Bhikkhu Pesala. Now I have to focus on the bold issue - my font does not bold when the text is printed. Ok Van, thanks a lot.

Re: How to make a macron to be at the top
Ok, I finally got it, thanks a lot Bhikkhu Pesala. The problem was about the glyphs that I assigned to the dead keys. I just maintained the "tilde" glyph, I supposed to change it to macron glyph in order to make it functions. Ok, 1 problem settled, now I have to focus on the bold issue - m...

Re: How to make a macron to be at the top
Upsss... I forgot to tell you that actually I also need the numbers (1, 2,3 4567890) to be in their current places on the keyboard. That is why I am trying to assign the dot below to be a dead key so I can still maintain typing all the numbers without need to change to another keyboard layout.

Re: How to make use button "fn: function", “alt” or “ctrl” i
Dear Van. Perhaps you should go to what I have written to Bhikkhu Pesala (How to make a macron to be at the top). I also did attach all the letters that I want them to be in my keyboard, i.e. the macron letters and dot below letters. May be you have something to say in that. Its good to know that yo...
