Re: Changing font name
Is there a way to avoid adding that appended addition?Bhikkhu Pesala wrote: ↑Thu Oct 12, 2023 8:28 pm To change the font name you have to change in the Font Properties Panel, then export it. FontCreator will append Regular, Bold, Italic, etc.

Re: How to test in a graphic program?
Great! I can see that the font has a different name when I look in my graphic program. That is the "temporary name"?

Changing font name
I have a few older fonts that I created and I had named them just Stitching1, Stitching2, and so on.
What would be the simplest way to rename the fonts considering that there is the filename, and the font name that I want to match?

How to test in a graphic program?
In an old thread https://forum.high-logic.com/viewtopic.php?t=5195&start=15 , I mentioned that I was using TheFontThing to access the font I was creating, in my graphic program (PaintShop Pro). The suggestion was to use the FC preview and access the font that way. Now, I have upgraded FC version...

Re: After exporting my font, it has extra "digits" in the name
Thanks for confirming this.
I guess I have nothing to worry then.

Re: After exporting my font, it has extra "digits" in the name
Looking further, it seems to happen only when I have the Font tester window open.
Is that the case? And those digits are only a "temporary" situation but won't appear in the exported font itself?

Re: Opening a font on a Polish computer
I am about to release another font, and was wondering if this issue has been fixed in the update or if I still have to go through the same process to get the fonts to work in other languages (namely in Polish in case the same customer wants it).

After exporting my font, it has extra "digits" in the name
I have been working on a set of layered fonts, and one is ending with 2A and the other 2B.
However, when I look at the fonts in Word or PaintShop Pro, it lists the names with extra digits after the name I gave.
Where are those coming from? Where can I remove them? Thanks.

Re: Opening a font on a Polish computer
OK the Polish user still had issues so I looked further into the program and found other places where the NORMALNY appeared: in the Instances. In addition, I added Polish in the list (instead of deleting it) and edited the label to the same one used in English. She confirms that it is now displaying...

Re: Opening a font on a Polish computer
I made the changes you suggested, and re-export the font. It created two new fonts in the folder with (1) added to the name. I chose to rename the files so the previous one had (old) in the name, in my Windows Explorer and for the newly created one, which had (1), I removed that so it would have the...

Re: Opening a font on a Polish computer
Oh, that is great to hear. I just followed the instructions, and sent to the Polish user. I should hear from her later today or tomorrow. I will report back as soon as she can confirm that the behavior of the font has changed.
