Re: Petite Capitals Private Use.xml

That Private Use Area Transform script should probably be deleted. It will only work with earlier versions of CompositeData.xml

The Petite Capital German sharp S was designed for use with other Petite Capitals. It seems that there are two ways to design it.

Re: Some letter not working correctly

There is no problem with your font in FontCreator 11.5 either. I cleared the unused OpenType features in the attached.

Try uninstalling the font, and test the font in FontCreator and some other applications.

Re: Some letter not working correctly

Font menu, OpenType Designer (Ctrl F8 shortcut). Click on the Clear button to remove all scripts, though I don't see any there that would affect your lowercase j.

Re: Some letter not working correctly

I cannot reproduce the problem here. Both the font test within FontCreator, and a font test in another application display the glyphs as expected. In which application do you see the problem with the j glyph cut off and incorrectly positioned? The only unusual thing I noticed about the font was the ...

Re: how to use : hold down the Alt key and click one of the “comparison glyphs”

  1. Show the comparison toolbar (F11)
  2. Type the characters you want to use before and after the current glyph
  3. Alt+Click on the comparison glyph to go to it. The Before/After glyphs will change to suit.

Re: Curious bug with PDF import?

It also fails for me in FC12.

If I open the PDF in PagePlus X9 and do a Preflight test, I get an error:

Box Mismatch: The Trim Box Exceeds the Bleed Box

Exporting the PDF fixes it for FontCreator import.

Just wondering if there will ever be the ability to perform a find and replace within a highlighted section of code in the program editor similar to certain text editors like np.
The feature is already there in FontCreator 12. What do you mean by EV10?

If you really want to be able to move any of the components, edit the definition in CompositeData.xml. Which version of CompositeData.xml are you using? In FontCreator 12, A circumflex acute use base glyph A with stacking accent circumflex acute. To edit the stacking circumflex acute accent, right-c...

Re: Fonts for neon signs

You should probably use an even stroke width. My Mandala font illustrated below has a vertical stroke width of 192 funits for Capitals and 174 funits for lowercase. The units per em are 2048.

Re: Version of Unicode?

The User Data files are stored in a different location in FontCreator 12, than they are for FontCreator 11.5.

See Tools, Options, Advanced, Open User Data folder. You may need to modify your script.

Re: Script Font - Using the Apostrophe

If you include right single quote in a class together with apostrophe, and use that class in your glyph substitutions instead of the apostrophe, your font might be made to work with or without smart quotes enabled.
