Re: turkish cyrillic
If all you need to do is add a few glyphs with accents for glyphs that already exist in the font, you can do this very easily in the Home Edition. If you need to create entirely new glyphs, you can do that too, but they will lack hinting information. Save the original TNR font for backup purposes, u...

Re: Open Font, Rename and Save - Font is different
Obviously it is possible to paste a screenshot (shown by your post) however for some reason or other, it is not possible for me. I have tried now several times. Sorry to waste your time. I didn't paste it, I attached it, the same as you attached the Word document. Save your screen shot to a file fi...

Re: Open Font, Rename and Save - Font is different
Why you have to post a Word document to show a screen shot I don't know. Not much more I can do to help here.

Re: Open Font, Rename and Save - Font is different
Thanks. I opened the font in FontCreator 6, renamed it using the Autonaming Wizard and saved it with a new TTF file name. I installed both fonts using MainType I applied each font to an identical frame of text in PagePlus When I overlaid one text frame on top of the other, the spacing was identical,...

Re: Open Type Development
If you want to check the OpenType features that you have added, try the free TrueType Viewer. Open the otf version, and enable the features. Type some sample text.

Re: Italic won't work!
I think we will need the font (ZIP all four styles) to solve this. One of your screen shots is missing. Make sure that any earlier versions you have installed are uninstalled before reinstalling the latest versions.

Re: Need a prompt when font file location no longer accessible
I'm surprised that no one replied to this yet. I can confirm that it does seem to be a bug in the latest version too. This is a potentially critical bug as a great deal of work could be lost. Although the chances of saving to an external drive by accident are slim, it has happened to you so it could...

Re: Unlawful Unmapped Characters
OpenType features are an open standard available to any software vendor. If they want to implement support for them, they can. Then I am sure that the Adobe fonts will work as they do in Adobe software. Palatino Linotype also contains numerous unmapped glyphs that only work in software that supports...

Re: Bearing and Glyph Transform Tool
If I understand you correctly, then your glyph has some off-curve extremes. Fix them first with the Validation Toolbar and then the left-most control point will coincide with the left of the contour.

Which version of FontCreator are you using? For the Professional or Trial versions: From the Insert menu, Insert Characters Double-click on the grave accent (96) and any other accents you need, e.g diaeresis, acute, cedilla, caron, breve, tilde, etc., (168,180,184,710,711,713,714,715,728,729,730,731...

Re: Changing Measurements to Milimetres or Inches?
I think this is the easiest way to fix this: Print out a single character at 720 point Measure it Calculate the proportion by which it needs to be resized. Presumably you have been given a target size for 12 point text or 24 point text. Use the Transform Wizard in Font Creator to scale the glyphs ve...

Re: How to make "ão" a single character?
Just design your "thousand" glyph with some white space either side of it. Add more glyphs and subs for 10,000, 100,000, 1,000,000 etc., as far as you need, but you don't need for every possible combination — just for the zeros. sub zero zero zero zero zero zero zero zero -> hundredmillion...

Re: How to make "ão" a single character?
The postscript name of 0 is zero so I think in the script you must use: zero zero zero -> anysuitablepostscriptname (e.g.uniE030) To generate a valid postscript name in your font, delete the existing one and click on Generate. It seems that only ASCII characters are allowed and no spaces. The postsc...

Re: Asian fonts showed up, make them go away
One of the best reasons for using a font manager like MainType is so that you don't have to keep all of your fonts installed. You can organise them into groups, and just Load a group for a specific project whenever they are needed. They will be unloaded the next time you reboot. Installing thousands...
