Re: Small Thumbnails

FontCreator 5 is very old. The earliest version that I have installed is 6.5. The Help File for 6.5 gives the shortcuts to increase the cell size as plus and minus. The size of the cells can also be set in Tools, Options, Overview. Later versions allow one to increase the size of the glyph inside th...

Re: Yes italic, no regular

I have a font, Lekhana, in which the Regular style has a slight slant. To calculate the italic angle, select a couple of nodes, and use the g shortcut to create a guideline. Double-click the guideline, and set it to "Diagonal Angle." Now subtract that angle from 270 to get the italic angle of about ...

Re: Yes italic, no regular

This post in the FAQ explains how to do it for all versions. If you have the Standard or Professional edition, a Transform script can change regular to italic and modify the relevant fields automatically. If you don't want to slant any glyphs, just select the space character, then run the script. Ot...

Re: Strikeout and Underline Position

Could you please confirm that these values doesn't work in Adobe programs or not? I have tested and apparently Adobe does in its own way. Apparently, you have found your own answer. The InDesign or PhotoShop forums would be the place to get a definitive statement. Perhaps they have a way to change ...

Re: Weird behaviours under Windows 10

Maybe ask Microsoft or the authors of your CAD software?

It works OK in LibreOffice on Windows 10.

Re: Weird behaviours under Windows 10

The Stop Sign is mapped to Dingbat Right Curly Bracket, which is what I assume that you're seeing in your software, which must be using a substitute font. Stop Sign Arete.png The Font Test Window matches what I see with the Test font in Serif PagePlus, which seems to be correct. Test Font in PagePlu...

Without the font, we can only guess what the problem might be.

Send it to Erwin if you don't want to attach it here.

Re: Hiragana / Katakana not recognized

I cleaned up the unused features and lookups in the OpenType Editor. I let FontCreator calculate the Ranges and Code Pages I exported the font (attached) It works in Serif PagePlus, but in Libre Office the line-spacing was wrong. Is this supposed to be vertical text? I am not familiar with CJK fonts.

Re: Weird behaviours under Windows 10

It does not sound like a bug in FontCreator. Perhaps a bug in your font.

It seems that Windows 10 is treating it as a Symbol font, instead of a Unicode font.

Are you able to share the font file or FontCreator Project file?

Re: Is it possible to choose the writing orientation for a font?

I don't create RTL fonts, but I think what you need to do is calculate Ranges and Code Pages in Font Properties.

Re: Moving fonts back in from Illustrator

I suspect that copy and paste will be the easiest method. Vector scaling can be adjusted in Tools, Options, Import. If anyone has any Transform scripts to share, they can add them to this thread . So far, no one did apart from me. I don't think you will find anything as good as the effects available...
