From where did you download the installer? What is its size on disk?

Re: Confusing anchor points with FontCreator

If you can share the font we can see where the problems lie.

Later versions of FontCreator have some validation tools for locating and fixing errors.

Version 6.5 is very old now. The most recent version is 13.

Probably intersecting contours or suspicious points. What does the Validation Toolbar (F7) tell you? Double-click the error report to zoom in and manually fix the errors.

Re: "Optimize contours" causes distortion

To get a near perfect circle you need only 12 nodes. Optimising an already optimised contour may make it worse, so don't do it.

Re: none similar web font smoothing/hinting

it is very unfortunate that after that much work designing and adjusting glyphes, find out that a manual hinting is mandatory since all these softwares wont solve the entire display issues on Auto hinting. now how can some one do it, any tutorials are there? seems that no much a beginner can do i g...

Re: none similar web font smoothing/hinting

FontCreator only uses a third-party library, TTF Autohint for automatic font hinting. There is an *.ini file in the FontCreator Program folder, but I have never tried adjusting the paremeters. [autohinting] latin-fallback=false hinting-limit=200 ignore-restrictions=true hinting-range-min=8 hinting-r...

Re: Find the numbers of the missing glyphs

Use the Insert Characters Dialog to complete the desired character set. Double-click an empty character to add it to the list; Shift+Double-click to add a range of characters. Copy the characters to the clipboard to get a comma separate list of code-points; in this example all missing characters fro...

Re: Non-transparent glyphs?

Does your software support coloured fonts?
  1. Colourise the circle to black
  2. Colourise the one to white
  3. Add the white colour glyph member to the coloured circledone glyph

Re: Non-transparent glyphs?

Coloured glyphs can have white glyphs, but if your program does not support coloured fonts, they won't look as intended.

Re: Find the numbers of the missing glyphs

If you complete any category FontCreator will add the glyphs at the end of the font. Select the empty glyphs and cut them (Ctrl+X). Open the Insert Glyphs dialog and paste the clipboard contents into the Insert by name tab. Click the Validate icon to calculate the number of glyphs. If I do this for ...

Re: Duplicate named fonts

Impossible to say without knowing the differences between the fonts.

I would suggest importing a few, examining them in MainType and then deciding which is better.

Look at licensing information, embedding rights, glyph coverage, and OpenType features. The extension does not mean much.

Re: How to Organise Fonts in Folders?

The thing about MainType is that you do not need to organise your fonts on the hard drive. MainType collects all of the fonts that it finds and adds them to a database. To organise your fonts in MainType you can create groups, tag fonts, or create custom views (only in the Professional version). It ...

Something wrong with Window 10 more like. Just skip the warning since you know that it is from a safe source. No doubt Microsoft will catch up eventually.
