Re: Reduce font width but keep stem width

I need to keep the bold because I need the stem width to be the same. Instead of using the bold transform, which affects all nodes, select the nodes that you wish to move, then move them with the cursor keys (Shift + Right, right, etc. Moving Selected Nodes.png Incidentally, what is the significanc...

What's the purpose of pasting back the original contour? And undoing, this confuses me even further.
It allows you to try different settings without closing and reopening the font project. Try it without the bold script, just scale, then lasso nodes and move them to adjust the stroke width.

Re: Reduce font width but keep stem width

You will probably have to move some nodes, but try it this way: Copy the glyph because glyph transformations cannot be undone Open the glyph in the glyph edit window and move the inner contour outside of the outer contour (Shift + right x ten) (see screen shot) Run the Transform script Move the inne...

Re: Eliminating Kerns

I think your best bet is to copy the calt table to notepad, then manually work through the list of kerning pairs deleting those included in contextual alternates. I wonder if some legacy apps that do support kerning might not support contextual alternates? Obviously, if you don't provide legacy "ker...

Re: Hinting Program problems

Probably one or more glyphs is too complex or has intersecting contours. Try running the Font Validator.

I'd be interested to know if there are any other languages that use it.

Re: Disappearance of small letter i diacritics when clicking composite icon

The way I complete composites is by copying and pasting each glyph into a composite cell from the main character glyph. I also do this one at a time. That step is not needed. Just use complete composites. You don't even need to use copy/paste from i to dotless ı — use complete composites, then make...

I moved your thread to the correct forum.

It's true. The Help File does not seem to tell you how to enable disabled panels via the View menu.

Re: Put Backups on a Network Drive

What if MainType would have one back up for everything? In other words, when a user backs up, not only does it back up the Font Vault, but also the Tags, the Ratings, the Layout, etc. It already does that, if I am not mistaken. I recommend compressing the backups with 7-Zip before moving them to Dr...

Re: Disappearance of small letter i diacritics when clicking composite icon

Since I did the coding, I can confirm that it is not a bug. If the composite was composed with accents + lowercase i, instead of accents + dotless ı it would be a bug. The result would look like this, which is incorrect. i grave composite.png Although it is not difficult to add a fall-back glyph of ...

Is this something that could be fixed in a future MainType update?
I can reproduce it by changing the Windows scaling, so I am sure that it can be fixed.

Re: Toggle Family Grouping - UI cutoff

I cannot reproduce the issue here. It may be a windows scaling issue. The columns can be resize horizontally.
