Re: Petite Capitals script

Don't be loath to edit the CompositeData.xml file if you need to. That's why there is an option to "Copy Data Files to User Data Folder" in Tools, Options, Advanced. The original file is saved in Program Files when FontCreator is installed: <!-- Updated 27th April 2017 for FontCreator 11.0 --> You c...

Re: Overlapping Text and Disappearing Glyphs

The zero has a left side bearing of -1052, hence the overlapping problems. Use the Glyph Properties dialogue (F4) to set the left side-bearing to 91, and set the left side-bearing point to zero. Re: Transformation parameters

The scripts do not use the funits/em setting. The scale is by a percentage, but the bold transform is in funits. Almost all of the scripts will need manual adjustment to suit each font. They were designed using my Verajja font (derived from Bitstream Vera), and won't be right for other fonts. The sc...

Re: Overlapping Text and Disappearing Glyphs

This does not look like a bug in FontCreator; just some bugs in your font with incorrect side-bearings. If you can share the font project we can take a look.

Re: underscores

As far as I can tell, a glyphname with spaces, e.g. "f f i" works OK, but it seems to violate the specification: so I suggest not using spaces. I just leave out the underscores to make the name easier to read and type, e.g. "ffi" 2.f.i. Glyph name A glyph name may be up to 63 characters in length, m...

Re: Math Type

H with dot above is in Latin Extended Additional. It does not exist in your Tahoma New font.

I think your problem is that you have not installed your modified font, and MathType is only seeing the default Tahoma font.

Re: Suggestion for Metrics

I deleted your duplicate thread in the Support forum, as I am sure that such a feature does not exist. I don't understand how this could help in designing a clone of an existing font unless you're doing something dodgy like copying the glyph outlines to a new font. You could just copy the metrics, a...

Re: Math Type

What code-points did you map them to? Does Math Type support glyphs in the Private Use Area like Windows Character Map does?

Re: Add dot to font

Character or glyph is not the point. The difference is between copying a glyph from the glyph overview and copying glyph contours from the glyph edit window.

Re: Add dot to font

That is because you already created a composite glyph with one glyph member, Q, by copying the Q from the glyph overview. If you want to modify the existing glyph Q then my method will work because the glyph Q is a simple glyph. To create a new composite glyph, copy both Q and dot above, and paste t...

Re: Add dot to font

Are you simply trying to modify the design of Q, or do you wish to add a new character Q with dot above? To copy the dot glyph outline, you need to open it in the Glyph Edit Window, and copy it there, then paste that into the Glyph Edit Window for Q. If you wish to create a new composite glyph Q wit...
