Re: Convert true type font to bitmap font ?

I know a rather old program - it is Softy from David Emmett. Unfortunately he died some years ago. Softy is basically both a truetype and a pixel font designer. It allows to import true type fonts and to store them as pixel fonts. I do not remember whether it is allowed to post url here. But Softy (...

Hi, recently, I read an article that there are ideas to introduce an uppercase "ß".

This may be interesting, because the design is not fix yet.

I installed version 1.4 of the keyboard layout creator. I could open it, but the working space is empty and white. I have no idea what is wrong with this program on Vista and an Toshiba noetebook. Ich habe die Version 1.4 installiert, der Keyboardcreator öffnet sich auch, aber die Arbeitsfläche blei...

The moon font in the pdf document looks very good. The chronicle007 looks good, too, it is an interesting font with extreme heights. On my screen it looks clear. By the way, I have Softy, too, until the last version. Mr. Emmett died, and so no new versions will be developped. It was one of the first...

Hi William

In Windows XP, your font looks very clear at 12 point on a 1280x1024 screen in the font preview. But it has two disadvantages: 1. It is rather bold, and the main form are squares. So we can generalize this method for this kind of fonts. I do not know whether it works when kerning is swiched on. You ...

I found following: Mark the z caron glyph in the overview of a normal font Copy Mark the z caron in the overview of an bold, italic or bold italic font Right click and select Complete Composites to create a comp...

There is a relatively simple intuitive way to create composite glyphs: This alternate way is similar to the way Bhikkhu described. 1. Open the font overview window with the glyphs. 2. Select the caron accent and ctrl-c (copy.) 3. Goto the empty glyph, you want to create and double-click on it. The G...

Dropout control?

Hi, I created a relatively thin font. On a CRT, with Windows NT, it looks relatively good with grayscale option. When I switch off the gray scale, there are a lot of drop outs. Printed with 600 dpi, it looks fine. When I display it on a Flatscreen, Windows XP home, there are a lot of drop outs, even...

when I create a new font, it contains as Verndor "HL".
Is this ok? Can I use this?
Or are there any problems?

Best regards

Join Contures is the feature, I missed in earlier versions. I like it very much. It convinced me to update my earlier version. It is really a good work.
