Re: New User - Can't Figure Out How Remove Fonts from My Library

I'd been using FontNexus, which is not a bad program (in fact, since it's free, I'd recommend FontNexus for any average Windows user who downloads fonts but doesn't need a font manager professionally), but it doesn't use a database and doesn't cache the font previews so any time you select a "group...

Alfred,

I see you've been hoisted to the title, Top Typographer! Kudos, you deserve it!

Thanks, Jonne. I think you and Mike deserve that accolade rather more than I do, but it's obviously Erwin's call. (I did send him a PM at the time, suggesting that his standards must be slipping!)

Re: Font Creator Expert Wanted...

Thank you for the suggestion but, my handwriting and art skills are nothing special and I would like the fonts to be created from existing engravings and photographs. It doesn't require either handwriting or art skills! If you save a copy of the template as a GIF image , you can use your favourite ...

Why not try the online font generator at YourFonts.com? (It's owned and operated by High-Logic, the developer of FontCreator.)

Re: Font Creator Expert Wanted...

I am looking to hire someone to make the most simple font, numbers 0-9. I have been unable to find the exact font, so I need to make it. If you tell us which version of FontCreator you have and show us a picture of how the numbers should look, I'm sure someone here can guide you through the process...

Historical Typography: Eszett in French??

I've just come across an interesting article here, discussing some of printer Jean Crespin's typographical preferences.

It's Rochester Pro (or Rochester, if you're happy with the free version from Google Fonts).

Re: Please help identify this font. Tnx! :)

Directive Four looks like it's heading in the right direction, but it would require quite a bit of tweaking to turn it into an exact match.

Re: Alt Codes for Special Characters

Characters produced by Alt+0nnn numeric keypad sequences such as Alt+0149 are ANSI, or ISO-8859-1 (ISO Latin 1). U+2022 is a Unicode bullet character; just as you can use Alt+0149 for an ANSI bullet, you can use Alt+8226 (where 8226 is the decimal equivalent of 2022 hexadecimal) for a Unicode bullet.

Re: How can a font collector identify supported OpenType features?

Suppose you want to find out which of your fonts include petite caps, tabular figures or swashes. Is there a utility that will scan your font collection and compile a list of the ones which include a particular OpenType feature? Though I have not installed the support for it, I do believe there are...

This sounds like a valid feature request for 'Main Type', perhaps you should ask Erwin.

It would be a great feature to add to MainType.
Thanks for your support, gentlemen. Edit: And thanks to Bhikkhu Pesala for moving the thread from the General Font Discussions subforum.
