I made use of autohide for the Character, Font Information, and Sample Panes.
I’ve been overlooking that useful feature. Bringing it into play should be a big help on my relatively small screen.

4. Memorize a few common ANSI codes: ¶ (20) § (21) ° (0176) © (0169) ® (0174), × (0215), ÷ (0247) etc. Hold down the Alt key and type the code on the Numpad (with Numlock Enabled) 5. You can use keyboard shortcuts to change the notation for codepoints: Ctrl+J to switch to decimal, or Ctrl+K to switch to hexadecimal.

Re: Printing-to-PDF the character set

When you print-to-PDF, does it basically create images out of all of your glyphs, rather than embedding your font? I'm thinking that's the case -- even the "touch up text" tool in Acrobat doesn't behave like it normally would over text. Any non-Adobe PDF printer driver that I’ve ever used converts ...

Unmapped glyphs are added to the preview toolbar with shortcut "P" by using the glyph names. This feature was added in FontCreator 9.0.
I believe William is currently using FontCreator 8.0. Time to upgrade, perhaps?

The sample below immediately reminded me of ITC Anna, but that isn’t it! Can anyone here identify it for me?

Re: Is .notdef required or not?

I think I'll make a box w/question mark for my .notdef, but apart from that I have four other empty glyphs... .null nonmarkingreturn space nbspace I remember adding in that last one based on your advice/tutorial. :) What's .null for, though? Something similar to .notdef? And nonmarkingreturn -- is ...

OPTIKipling isn't an exact match — in particular, it’s too oblique and the crossbar on the /t is (much) too heavy — but in other respects it’s pretty close, especially the capital letters, and it’s free!

But a wheel could work too I haven’t used a mouse in years, and my trackball doesn’t have a scroll wheel, s...
