I think this is best.
Not that in the beginning that scheme should be an issue. But just how many axes are possible that would show up in MT this way?

Re: Red Circle/Button

Erwin,

But, shouldn't a variable font be listed only once and not the axes as individual "fonts"?

Or, what happens if one would only activate a single one (assuming it wasn't a system font)? Would all instances then show up as activated?

Re: Tool to measure font colour

My main profession is layout work. So as far as "color" goes, I relate to it as regards type density on a page, not individual characters. It is hard to reconcile the quote you have as regards characters in a font. And the negative space in particular. Without doing that calculation, my first impres...

Re: Tool to measure font colour

I have a batch file that runs against a PDF to calculate ink coverage (well, technically the non-inked coverage) that utilizes some ImageMagik commands (which needs to be installed). pdfToolbox also has an area coverage routine. But I don't know your goal as to whether it is for each individual char...

Re: Character writing tool for school

No. Not that I know of. I do have several fonts for this (and lines, direction arrows, etc.) that I have used for some work. They are commercial fonts. All I know is that I wouldn't wanna make one! It would be likely a combination of AI and whatever font editor I chose to use...and a lot of semi-aut...

Re: Font Creator Expert Wanted...

I was in the hospital for a couple days. I didn't much more than make it home after my last email before my heart was giving me issues. My wife brought in my tablet, but gmail isn't set up on it. I downloaded a couple tools to see if they work on Windows 10, two didn't but I may be able to make one ...

Re: Font Creator Expert Wanted...

Alfred, These are what are called "stick" fonts. They are a single outline for CNC engraving. Cannot use FC. I am currently investigating the possibilities. I've done them once upon a time, but things have changed since then and I am uncertain as of yet what CNC is being used as it makes a differenc...

Re: Font Creator Expert Wanted...

Alfred was trying to "teach you to fish" versus being paid "to fish for you." For those of us that make money making fonts, we generally shy away from small work because it can be either a labor of love (i.e., it doesn't pay the bills) or the person desiring to pay for something like what I am under...

Re: Preview vs WOFF test

Me thinks perhaps your browser is adjusting text larger (not 100%). In FF, press ctrl + 0 In any case, I took screen shots in OT Designer, Preview and Vivald (at 100%). I made the backgrounds transparent. I overlaid each screen shot in an image editor. Both OTD and Preview were pixel perfect. Vivald...

Re: Preview vs WOFF test

The /p characters are above the baseline and more or less hit a nominal x-height line. So partly due to design. This also makes the bowels of the /p characters smaller than say an /o character and so in part it is an illusion I think. If I open the font in the gallery and make the OT Designer, the P...

Re: Some thoughts on Projects

In the linked thread, Erwin explained he cannot do it with the current tools. The link goes to my thoughts in that thread.

It would be nice to at least open all related files in one go if desired.
