Re: Connecting marks with cursive attachments ?

Well, 11 did come out a couple years ago...And, like you, assuming there is even an issue in FC11... I would really like it if Adobe, Quark--or Fontlab, Glyphs, etc.--would give me a free copy if & when they ever fixed their bugs that, in some cases, have existed for a decade or more. Heck, I would ...

Re: Color glyphs don't work in Adobe Illustrator CC

Your CLR font works fine in anything supporting the COLR format, here using QuarkXPress:

I do not have a current subscription for Adobe products, but your COLR format can be converted to an SVG format using TransType, again here in QXP:

Re: Font getting cutoff in FontCreator, Windows, and others

May I suggest looking at one of the system fonts and note what its values are? Then make yours the same, or at least similar.

Re: Curious bug with PDF import?

I'm not certain it is that there is a pagebox error. I don't have my low-level pdf tools installed at the moment, but both Acrobat and pdfToolbox report all page boxes are identical to 5 decimal places. I would need the low-level stuff to investigate the page boxes further.

Re: Need help identifying fonts (obviously)

I didn't think you were trivializing the effort! It was my poor attempt at levity. BTW, about the font for the second identification. It is a horribly made font. One can see through areas in my magenta version where it overlays the bitmap. The font as used for the bitmap was/is the unfixed version. ...

Re: Getting a script font to connect

Thank You! Since I am new to Fontcreator I would have never thought of moving the side bearings. I thought they have to stay where they were. The character itself is moved to the left of the left side-bearing. The right side-bearing is dragged into a typically common negative value. As mentioned in...

Re: Getting a script font to connect

Connecting script fonts take the most work, much of which is the connecting parts and side-bearings. Take a look in the image below. This font does not rely on kerning. Most good connecting script fonts do not. capture-002675.png Note how the side-bearings are inset from both the right and left of t...

The main issue, I think, is the "bleeding" in the lines that make up the characters at the point siz...

Re: Colour fonts - SVG and CPAL and COLR

Yes. Being involved with print versus web, I was referring to print applications (layout and design applications specifically) in my comments.

However, this (palette colors) may be tweakable in QXP's HTML5 output via post-processing of the CSS sheet(s).

Re: Colour fonts - SVG and CPAL and COLR

Thanks, William.

Needed/included in COLR fonts, optional in SVG fonts.

As far as I know, no one has included the ability to alter the colors at the UI level at this time. Could be wrong...

Re: Colour fonts - SVG and CPAL and COLR

...I suppose that there would need to be default decoration colours as part of the standard so that a glyph that used decoratuon colours would look clourful even if no end user choices were made. I haven't ever seen a color font that was devoid of color(s). There would be zero point. I do not think...

Re: Colour fonts - SVG and CPAL and COLR

I think that when/if Serif adds color support, it should at least be both COLR & SVG. Not one or the other. SBIX could also be added for our Apple brethren who want to insert color glyphs native to the Apple eco-system (but as they are bitmap fonts, they sort of suck as a format). I don't know other...
