Restore from minimized to screen

Currently when I use MT, I leave it running minimized, which goes into the system tray. When accessed from the system tray, MT is restored to the taskbar in a minimized state, which then requires to again select MT to have it up on the screen. I would like to see MT, after restoring from the system ...

Re: Old military font

Not an exact match, Bob. It does match fairly well with the text/numbers you provided but note that where the upper part of the Y joins the stem it is a bit higher.

Re: Adobe Indesign CS6 Plugin "crashes"

Hmm. I have tested CS6 (version 8.1) with the HL CS6 plugin and found it works well. I haven't had any issues in running ID with the plugin and I haven't found a document that didn't have the fonts installed following dismissing ID's missing font dialog. Typically on the Adobe forums, if there are p...

Re: Feature request: Font activation for Quark Xpress 2017

This seems like a bug in Quark Xpress 2017. Did you contact them or went to their forums to see if other people have similar issues with Quark Xpress 2017? OK. I am trialing MT and wanted to have a look at how QXP 2017 deals with (or not) loaded fonts. Only I couldn't because of exceeding the font ...

Re: Smallcaps suggestions?

Bear with me... What Apple did with the Mac throughout its history is both a blessing and a curse. That is, they really don't give a hoot about supporting old software unless their OS advancements simply allowed them to work. What Microsoft has done throughout its history until Windows 10 (mainly) i...

Re: Out of Memory when saving Project or Exporting TTF

This is what I see in AI...note I also enlarged the /O character as my settings prefer this scale. capture-001581.png And here it is in FC after a copy/paste and moved the rest of the way into position: capture-001582.png The curve type has changed, but otherwise is pretty faithful. The wreath objec...

Re: Smallcaps suggestions?

The reason for a separate small cap font is just for those applications to be able to select it from the menu if they do not support a full-family listing and/or not support a small cap feature. Many/most recently made fonts do not provide separate fonts except by request. That I agree with. Yes, on...

Re: Smallcaps suggestions?

One could make a small cap font be part of a family, but one normally wouldn't want to do that. If an application doesn't support small caps--which is the only reason to break out the small caps to another font--then it likely only supports the 4 main styles (regular, italic, bold, bold italic). Bef...

Re: History like in Photoshop

Undo lists the currently available undo one step back. Much different than history. As Bhikkhu Pesala's screenshot shows, Undo displays a stack of undo steps. Having worked with history panels in other programs, I do prefer them, but I think Undo/Redo stacks work reasonably well. Problem for me is ...

Re: Alternates or New Font for cross bar (horizontal stroke) variations

Thanks, Alfred. So then, for an Alternate feature... I use a spreadsheet to create these, but the Alternate look up is formatted like: lookup Alternate1 { sub E -> [E.salt E.swsh E.ss01 E.ss02]; sub F -> [F.salt F.swsh F.ss01 F.ss02]; sub G -> [G.salt G.swsh G.ss01 G.ss02]; sub H -> [H.salt H.swsh H...

Re: Guidelines like in Photoshop

While I do prefer the opacity view (that and simple outline), It would be nice for the ruler guides to be on top of the drawing and leave the grid and metrics lines below.

It would likely take always locking the ruler guides to avoid selecting them when outlines or points are on a guide.

Re: History like in Photoshop

Undo lists the currently available undo one step back. Much different than history. Problem is, not everything is captured in the undo stack and likely wouldn't be listed in a history as regards reverting to a point in the past before that, either. I would be happy just for an actual Revert...but a ...

Re: Alternates or New Font for cross bar (horizontal stroke) variations

How to make what, or which, happen? I've never not used a Pro version and so am completely ignorant of the differences, much less back a few versions. If the Standard version doesn't have the OpenType Feature editor, I would encourage you to upgrade. It alone is worth the cost, but there are other r...
