Export/sync groups
Is it possible to export or sync a created group between computers? For example, I use multiple computers, so creating a group for a project on one computer, and then exporting or syncing that group to another computer avoids manually keeping a list of fonts. This would also apply to workgroup envir...

Re: Hangs on Processing
I have the same issue... I had a computer crash and the manufacturer wiped my system. When rebuilding it, i copied all of my fonts to the same folder (same directory structure) I had before. I reinstalled Maintype. I've refreshed my font folders and am stuck here "Processed 29065 out of 38787 resour...

Re: Font Information pane inconsistent
Well that certainly makes things interesting. I have no idea where the font files were - I have a huge collection of fonts. Part of what I was trying to do was to physically clean up the directory structure as well... So I guess the question is how do I get rid of font entries in my database for tho...

Font Information pane inconsistent
I am trying to clean up my library and HD space used for fonts. The Font Information pane in MainType is inconsistent in what is shows. While not all fonts would necessarily have tags/metadata embedded in them, I would expect the file location to be displayed for every font. Am I missing something o...

ability to share font groups
I'm sure this has been discussed, and I've been part of the discussion.... It continues to rear it's head at me... A team of creatives often create their own font collections via groups. They also share font groups when collaborating on a project. The ability to share these groups would be tremendou...

Indesign CC 2018/19
Does anyone know of a way to install the plugin created for previous versions of InDesign so that they will work with the newest versions? Adobe is cranking these updates/upgrades out like water, but vendors aren't able to keep up.

Re: Synchronize MainType between PCs
This is likely what I'll end up doing. Unfortunately, this is time intensive as I have over a gig of font files, so obviously, restoring is a length process...

Re: Synchronize MainType between PCs
I've been trying to work with that all day and apparently am doing something wrong. When I choose Tools|Import and Export|Export Tags and Ratings, and then enter a filename, nothing seems to happen. It doesn't create the xml file. I've tried selecting a few fonts to see if this was the problem, but ...

Re: Clean out duplicate font files
I very much like MainType, but do think a bit more comprehensive way to delete fonts would be helpful. I have well over 30,000 fonts on my system, sync'd on dropbox and downloaded to three computers. I know for sure, that many of these are duplicates, but manually deleting individual font files woul...

That would be tremendous!Erwin Denissen wrote: ↑Fri Jul 28, 2017 7:43 amCurrently there is no way to share them. This could be very useful for people wish to manage their fonts on multiple computers, so we'll add this to our to-do list.

icon reference
Could someone please provide a reference for the icons that are displayed in the font list? O is obviously opentype, but there are blue and green versions of this icon. Then I have some that look like a multi-page icon with a C on it, etc. I'm thinking this could be helpful in trying to clean up my ...

Re: Synchronize MainType between PCs
I've had my font files on dropbox for a long while now. However, unless I'm missing something, MainType's files are all local and the tags & groups remain on the computer. So as near as I can tell, there's no built-in facility to keep libraries in sync on multiple computers, other than having the sa...

Re: Synchronize MainType between PCs
I have found MainType7 (just upgraded to 8) to be very good with managing fonts overall. I used to manage a graphic design department and handled much of the IT because it's so much more intricate that typical IT/server management. The subject of fonts and groups has always been an issue - particula...

Syncing/sharing groups
I'm sure this has been discussed, but searching didn't yield me any results. I have a small virtual team of people who share a repository of fonts on a cloud folder (dropbox). This has worked well for us in terms of ensuring each team member has access to the fonts needed for a given project. The pr...
