I think this problem is partly due to that Word (at least my version) has the default setting to replace straight quotes with smart quotes, so if you think that you have made glyphs for " and ' in the cells appearing somewhere on the first row in a font windows in FontCreator, Word will promptl...

Hi, I've seen similar things to this occuring also in FCP5.5. It is very hard to say exactly what causes it but it has to do with cases where points from the two contours to be joined have the same coordinates and when off-curve points from one contour is situated exactly along a line in the other c...

Problem with printing composites

I've noted that I, or my computer, have problems in printing some composites characters (from microsoft word or the test current font page of FC). I wonder if anyone else has experienced something similar or if it's my computer or printer dirvers or anything else non-related to FC. The problem has t...

Thanks for all the help, in the end I think it is the Mathtype equation that freaks out. I did what you suggested and when it still didn't work I tried what I hadn't tried before (but should have), saving the font under a different name... This of course worked. Mathtype must have stored somewhere t...

No, that isn't the problem. I've carefully copied the same character and code ranges that are checked in the new font (that works) to the old font (that doesn't) and the old one is still ANSI.

Encoding:ANSI vs WinAllBasicCodePages

I have a problem using my designed font in the program MathType Equation 4 that I use within Microsoft Word. Even though I have designed greek characters and they are available (through Insert-->symbol) in Word I can't use them in MathType. The font was originally created with FCP4 (I think, maybe I...

When I make an italic font out of my normal font using the skew option of the glyph-transformer, the "left side bearing" of my glyphs stays with the same. In this case this is not very useful for letters like T where the left-most point of the glyph is far above the baseline. To fix things...
