Re: Just a thanks...

Hi Erwin, donʼt recall if I already thanked you for the inclusion of the “Replace Glyph” command in the pop‑up menu. If I did, hereʼs a double thankyou. Very practical, saved me tons of work. Regards, Typewhisperer I didn't think that would be useful to me but since it has appeared I have used it s...

Re: Duplication of Anchors

I have not been able to reproduce the error with the latest version. It appears to be fixed. It is good that it has been fixed because the default naming of anchors is 'Anchor_1' , 'Anchor_2', etc ... so it is likely that other people would have encountered this problem if they started using anchors...

Re: Duplication of Anchors

I've just downloaded 2395, I will try it on a previous backup version of the font without the new names and let you know the results.

We are going shopping after the evening meal so it will have to be tomorrow morning before I try it out.

Re: Duplication of Anchors

I now have a workaround. All the anchors have different names, Roman are prefixed with R_, italic with I_, bold with B_ and bold italic with Z_. If a glyph is copied to another font then the extra anchors are not linked and so can be deleted. This wasn't a bad bug anyway because exporting the font t...

Re: Font exports with glyphs misassigned

Let me guess, the one which exported with the glyphs mis-assigned was the one which was converted from a symbol font, am I right ?

Please read page 22 to 24 of the manual to learn about exporting legacy .TTF files.

Re: Duplication of Anchors

There were many duplicates in the Italic and Bold Italic fonts because whenever I made a change to the upright capitals I would propogate that change to the italic version, I didn't realise how many there were until I started investigating, they were hiding behind one another. I don't know what effe...

Re: Duplication of Anchors

Previously I said the bug only occurred occasionally, aparently it depends on the circumstances. It used to be occasionally but I must have done something to my project which has changed that. I hardly got the problem with the 'Munson' font but now with the 'Old Tobias' font it happens quite reliabl...

Re: Opening the projects in the same order

I know it's possible to do this it's just awkward, you have to remember to click on the tabs in the order you want them to open next time before you close the program. Sometimes I forget :(

Re: True cursive font : need pieces of advice

Hello ! :) Is there a tool which could do this : If (a word begins with i) { use glyph i-One ; } else { use glyph i-Two" ; } I need all words beginning with a i letter to use a i which is different from the i when it is placed inside the words. How should I achieve this ? Thank you ! :) In the open...

Re: True cursive font : need pieces of advice

As Bhikkhu Pesala said you seem to be doing OK, but you might like to investigate 'Anchors'. Anchors are usually used for the positioning of diacritic marks and normal anchors reposition the 'Mark' glyph so that its anchor is in the same position as the anchor of the same name in the 'Base' glyph. B...

Re: Munson

The real final version has just been put up on Deviant Art.

There were a lot of improvements to the open type features and anchor positioning between the version posted in the previous post and the final version.

Enjoy. :D

Re: Just a thanks...

I would like to thank Erwin for version 11. There have been many small improvements which may not seem like much when examined individually but when taken as a whole make a significant improvement to the overall workflow. And of course there have been some major improvements as well, but it's the sm...

Re: Duplication of Anchors

Try copying and pasting the same character from one font to another where both fonts have anchors (more than one) which are named similarly to each other.

However having said that the bug only occurs occasionally.

Good Luck !
