That is a simpler solution.

If you did a stylistic alternative for just the glyphs you want to embolden then it could be done that way.

Of course I don't mind, that is what its there for. I'm delighted to see someone is using it.

You could use Inkscape to create .SVG versions of the glyphs and embed those in your book. SVG is scalable.

Or you could supply a friendly creator of free fonts with the drawings of your glyphs to embed in one of his free fonts.
