Re: Cyrillic Blackletter font

Yes I have taken a good look at 'Wickednesse', it is a good font, well done. :D My font is called 'Drumph Gothic', the basic character shapes I copied from 'The Luttrell Psalter' which is available at the British Library. For reasons of humour the font has to support Cyrillic but that became a bit o...

Re: Version string doesn't display in installed font

So the question is, how many bytes does it save and how much incompatibility does it cause ?

With hard disks and memory growing ever larger is it worth a possible incompatibility to save a few bytes ?

Re: Space Diacritics?

The diacritics are meant to be placed above the preceeding character so the placement should be such that it is in the correct position above a lower case letter preceeding it. Of course lower case letters are all different sizes and different heights and what if it is preceeded by an upper case cha...

Re: Lost dialog boxes.

Thankyou both for your suggestions, I have got my Validation window back without a re-installation using Erwins suggestion. However it did reset more than I was expecting, but that isn't a problem. I am happy to mess about with the registry and will save a registry entries file for each of the diffe...

Lost dialog boxes.

Sometimes some of the toolbars get lost. At the moment the Validation toolbar is missing but it can be any of them. This only happens when I swap monitors on my laptop. It never happens on the desktop system because that has a fixed set of monitors and they never change. The laptop is used with a va...

Re: OpenType - Fractions

I finally got it working. My font didn't contain any .dnom characters so I put some in, same size as the .sinf or .sups characters but resting on the baseline. The gaps before and after the fraction slash were ugly so I included a composite clone of the fraction slash with large negative bearings. A...

Re: OpenType - Fractions

This is a problem I have been trying to deal with recently.

This looks good, I will copy it into 'Tobias' and see if I have any problems.

I will let you know how I get on.

Re: High DPI displays

I also have a High DPI screen on my laptop, it is 3200 x 1800. I have encountered the problem you describe, if it is the same problem then it can't be cured but it can be reduced. The problem is with the screen scaling factor in Windows 10. The GUI components Erwin uses on Main Type don't interact w...

Re: AutoMetrics

I think I understand what is going on, but I may be mistaken so Erwin might want to comment on this. The composite is made up of two glyphs positioned relative to one another. The user sets the relative position so that the accent or whatever looks correct and the program should strive to keep this ...

Re: Just a thanks...

Hi Erwin, donʼt recall if I already thanked you for the inclusion of the “Replace Glyph” command in the pop‑up menu. If I did, hereʼs a double thankyou. Very practical, saved me tons of work. Regards, Typewhisperer I didn't think that would be useful to me but since it has appeared I have used it s...

Re: Duplication of Anchors

I have not been able to reproduce the error with the latest version. It appears to be fixed. It is good that it has been fixed because the default naming of anchors is 'Anchor_1' , 'Anchor_2', etc ... so it is likely that other people would have encountered this problem if they started using anchors...

Re: Duplication of Anchors

I've just downloaded 2395, I will try it on a previous backup version of the font without the new names and let you know the results.

We are going shopping after the evening meal so it will have to be tomorrow morning before I try it out.

Re: Duplication of Anchors

I now have a workaround. All the anchors have different names, Roman are prefixed with R_, italic with I_, bold with B_ and bold italic with Z_. If a glyph is copied to another font then the extra anchors are not linked and so can be deleted. This wasn't a bad bug anyway because exporting the font t...

Re: Font exports with glyphs misassigned

Let me guess, the one which exported with the glyphs mis-assigned was the one which was converted from a symbol font, am I right ?

Please read page 22 to 24 of the manual to learn about exporting legacy .TTF files.
