Re: CFF Format Support for FontCreator 9.1 Please!

P.S.

You've seen an example of my font from a screen shot of my cursive font in FontCreator...That's how it's supposed to look, no edges on the kerning between letters so you know that, at least in the FontCreator and Word, I've kerned correctly in my mind.

Thanks

Re: CFF Format Support for FontCreator 9.1 Please!

Thanks for getting back to me Erwin, I have news to update my last post which impugned Word as looking bad in TTF format. I take that back. In Word 2013 my cursive font looks fine...it's when I export the font to pdf and read it with Adobe Acrobat Reader DC that makes the font look bad. So I simply ...

Re: CFF Format Support for FontCreator 9.1 Please!

Hey Bhikkhu, The reason I wish to use CFF is because of something that is not the fault of FontCreator but that of Word. When I send a document to someone with my font I have to send it pdf and Word does a terrible job kerning TTF formatted documents but does a pretty good job with the CFF format. T...

× CFF Format Support for FontCreator 9.1 Please!

Erwin, I have version FontCreator 9.1.1991 and am no longer able to export or install with the CFF format because of a security release by microsoft and Windows 10 being incompatible (I am running 8.1 but those I wish to sell my font to will have windows 10). I respectfully request an update so that...

Re: CFF formatted no longer install

Hey Erwin, Hope all is well with you. I'm not using windows 10 as 9.1 version of FontCreator doesn't support CFF outlines, I'm still using windows 8.1. But for those who have FontCreator 9.1 and wish to use CFF outlines, I've sussed out the problem to a security update by Microsoft. If you know how,...

[FIXED] CFF formatted no longer install

When I try to install a CFF format font from FontCreator 9.1 I get the error message attached. When I export the file using CFF Windows says it is not a valid font.

Re: How to make a contextual cursive font

Erwin and friends, I've nearly finished my contextual cursive font and I wanted to thank you all for your support. I don't know how to thank you for your individual attention and interest in my project. So to thank you all enjoy the pic. If you're interested in my code I'd be happy to share it with ...

Re: How to make a contextual cursive font

Bhikku! I captured the rainbow! And there is gold aplenty. My goal of increasing the weight of the font without doing much work has realized itself. Instead of making a separate font, I saved my original font under a different name then used the glyph transformer AFTER everything was neatly kerned. ...

Re: How to make a contextual cursive font

Bhikkhu, Thanks for the quick response and the information, yes I was aware of exporting and yes that's what I was in essence doing...and even though I'm chasing rainbows, it's good to know it for sure and puts my mind at ease. Ease in the fact that I'm not missing something. So thank you for the pe...

Re: How to make a contextual cursive font

Erwin and company, I have a font with two versions. They're exactly the same except the glyphs on one of them is bolder (using the glyph transformer). It is very time consuming to manually kern this cursive font (can't autokern) and up until this point I have been simply copying and pasting the kern...

Re: Diacritics in a contextual cursive font?

Thanks for the quick reply!

I'm not at that level, I just found that a diacritic letter will not connect to it's surrounding letters in cursive...and wondered why. That's all. Wondered if there was some way. I'm guessing not.

Thanks,

Jonne

Diacritics in a contextual cursive font?

Erwin and friends, Was fooling around with tildes and wondered if it were possible to use them over letters in a contextual cursive font. I found the code, completed the letter, entered the alt+code, and the diacritic shows but does not allow for attachment to letters around it as far as I experimen...

Slash symbol disappears when in Opentype and Preview

When trying to kern forward slash, it disappears when you enter anything after it in Open Type Designer and Preview. When the font is exported and installed it works but it doesn't work inside FC. It does work in the "test TTF OTF. Not a major bug, but a curious one. Has anyone else come across this...

[CLOSED] Error Message when exporting using autohint

This message came up as I tried to install my font using TTF and autohinting...it's not that big of a deal for me but it may be for others so I'll just report it for posterity's sake.
