Re: Format 14 cmap subtable
Is this feature necessary for implementing the use of variation sequences in explicitly choosing between a monochrome emoji glyph and a colourful emoji glyph to display? Yes, it is. Support for Unicode variation sequences is required by font developers working on emoji fonts, as well as those worki...

Re: Format 14 cmap subtable
Hi Erwin,
I tried out the test version you sent me, and it looks great. I loaded a few fonts with Unicode variation sequences for various scripts, and the dialog lists them all correctly. With the addition of import/export functionality it will be all I need.
Thanks,
Andrew

Re: Format 14 cmap subtable
Dear Erwin,
Thank you very much! Having a way to import and export the sequences in text format is all I need.
Best wishes,
Andrew

Hi Erwin,
Thank you very much for the quick fix. I'm not having any problems with the new version.

Re: 64-bit version loses code-point mappings for supra-BMP characters
The problem also occurs with the 32-bit version. I opened the ttf font file for my large Chinese font in Font Creator 32-bit (all code-point mappings are correct). Then I export the font under a new name, and when I open the new ttf font file code-point mappings for all supra-BMP characters have bee...

[FIXED] 64-bit version loses code-point mappings for supra-BMP characters
I have been using the 64-bit version of Font Creator 11.0 this evening to edit my large Chinese font, which has nearly 14,000 characters outside the BMP (i.e. greater than U+FFFF), and on two occasions after saving the project all the supra-BMP characters in the font lost their code-point mappings. ...

Re: [FIXED] Cannot save project with 10.1
Hi Erwin,
Many thanks for releasing a 64-bit version. I installed it today, and so far I do not have the "out of memory" rror for my huge font any longer, and I can finally save the font as a project rather than opening the ttf file every time.

Re: Modifying glyph names
What I would now like to request is being able to paste glyph names into selected glyphs. I would also very much welcome some way to batch change glyph names. For me the most useful feature would be to open glyph names in a simple text editor (similar to how the OpenType features can be edited as a...

[FIXED] Import negative image not working correctly
With latest 10.1 release I just tried importing a negative glyph image. I checked "Negative" and adjusted the threshold until the image was as clear as possible, but when I clicked the generate button the imported image was just a big black rectangle. If I do not check "Negative"...

Re: Format 14 cmap subtable
As a software developer myself I can understand that it may not seem like a priority for you. Nevertheless, Format 14 cmap subtable is supported by other font editors, and Unicode variation sequences are getting more and more widely implemented, especially for CJK fonts as the Ideographic Variation ...

Re: Support for vhea and vmtx tables
Thank you, that is very welcome news. Adding support for vertical layout to my CJK fonts is a very high priority for me, so I hope you will be able to add support for these tables in the next major release.

Re: Cannot save project with 10.1
The new release seems better, and I have not yet seen the "Out of memory" error after doing half an hour of editing and saving several times. Everything seemed to be working OK yesterday, but this evening when I opened FontCreator 10.1, every time I tried to open a project FontCreator cra...

Re: Cannot save project with 10.1
I have always thought that the "Find" command would be better if it just located the searched glyph in the glyph list without filtering it at all. I also miss the old find function (which I had with v. 5.6 I think), as there are often times when I want to look at a character in the contex...

Re: Cannot save project with 10.1
In case you haven't noticed it, the improved validation features do work a lot better. Take a look at the glyphs: 1107, 1867, 2895, 8827, 31245. Take a look at them in both FC10.0 and FC10.1. The contour direction detection is very accurate. Yes, I found it impossible to correctly validate the cont...

Re: Cannot save project with 10.1
The new release seems better, and I have not yet seen the "Out of memory" error after doing half an hour of editing and saving several times. However, the progress bar still goes straight to full, and remains at full for about 30 seconds whilst the project is saved. Additionally, the forwa...
