Re: type slash and some numbers disappear

Take a look at this Video on Using FontCreator 11.0 . The various methods of creating contours are described from 3:50 onwards. The glyphs in your font could probably be created quite easily using the Free Draw Tool, holding shift to constrain strokes to horizontal or vertical. Set the line width as...

Re: type slash and some numbers disappear

I am curious to know how you are drawing the glyphs to get so many rough corners and contours with incorrect direction?

Re: How to remove overlapping anchors in batch?

The font validation wizard can detect and tag glyphs with intersecting co-ordinates, but they must be fixed manually.

Re: type slash and some numbers disappear

There is not much lacking, apart from a .notdef glyph. There are a number of common errors, some of which I have fixed in the attached project file. Lots of redundant points, off-curve extremes, and contours with incorrect direction. I fixed glyphs: 0,1, and ? Use the Validation Toolbar (F7) to spot...

Re: type slash and some numbers disappear

I resize and replaced your camera images and placed them inline for easier reading. To take a screen shot, focus the text area of the Preview Toolbar and press Alt+Printscreen. Paste that image into Windows Paint, IrfanView, or whatever and save it as a PNG image (best for screenshots; use JPG for ...

The color palette supports colors with transparency, so it might be possible to mimic it.
Tricky though, because it needs a graduated transparency to look good, which would mean several shadows with increasing transparency.

Re: Shadow

It is not possible to include transparency in a font. You can only get a sharp shadow. You could use a grey colour with colour glyphs, but it would still be sharp.

Re: lefthand

One person downloaded your font.

You would need to create the glyphs in a code block for Hebrew or Arabic, or some other right to left script. It might be more complex than it seems at first sight, so I don't want to get involved.

Does such a font have any worthwhile purpose?

Re: Balava

Thanks Jonne, but I cannot claim credit for the typeface design. It is derived from Libre Baskerville, which was released under an open SIL license agreement by Pablo Impallari.

All I did was add some more glyphs and OpenType Features. The details of my changes can be found in FONTLOG.txt

Re: why read-only?

Check the file attributes in Windows Explorer to see if it is read-only.

Try using Save As.. to a new file/folder.

Re: Resizing whole Font

Whatever you do, the glyphs have to fit between WinAscent and WinDescent or they will be cut off.

All one can do is increase the x-height and Cap Height so that the glyphs take up a greater percentage of the point size.
