Re: Kerning not working?
The kerning works fine in PagePlus and OpenOffice. There isomething wrong with your installation of the font. Perhaps you installed the unkerned version first, then tried to install the kerned version.
Try uninstalling the font, reinstalling it, then, if necessary, reboot.

Re: Own keys for characters
Still the same answer. FontCreator is a program for designing fonts, not for designing keyboards. You can design every glyph that you need — using composites if you want to save design effort and reduce file size — but typing with the font is a matter of learning how to use MS Keyboard Layout Creato...

Re: Kerning not working?
MS Paint doesn't support kerning as far as I know. Word does, but it is not on by default. See this thread

Re: Own keys for characters
Why not just shift + ` + b ? That is possible, but its nothing to do with FontCreator. It is just down to how you design your keyboard either using Word's shortcuts or system-wide using the Microsoft Keyboard layout creator, Autohotkey, etc.

Re: Header and Footer Above Template
It is hard to tell what you're doing. Which version of Scanahand are you using — Standard or Premium (or trial) edition?
Which template have you selected in Empty Template? Basic, or Basic and Extended Character Set?

Re: Increasing of Bearings - what am I doing wrong?
There are some fonts like Bitstream Vera , which are released under GNU license, and so can be modified and distributed under the terms of the license agreement. The Font Software may be modified, altered, or added to, and in particular the designs of glyphs or characters in the Fonts may be modifie...

Re: crystal drawings font
You can print your font from FontCreator as a grid with a caption and each symbol. Right-click to change the caption option to Postscript name or Symbol characters.

Re: crystal drawings font
It is looking better now. Good enough to be usable. How much time you want to spend on improving it is up to you. See How Long Does it Take to Make a Font? There are several things you could do. You can do these as a way to learn new techniques: There are still some validation errors. Go to Tools, O...

Re: Duplicate fonts
There are plenty of free utilities that will delete duplicates based on simple parameters such as filename or filesize. Try using one of those first, and then see what duplicates are left based on Font name.

Re: crystal drawings font
Yes. Ease of use is a major factor in favour of FontCreator over other programs. Run the Validator from the Font menu to fix some problems. A couple of glyphs have some stray contours in them. The validator will show you which glyphs have errors that could not be fixed automatically. All of the glyp...

Just click on the Include subfolders icon (the last one on the browse pane) to list all of the fonts, and the duplicates will be next to each other in the alphabetical font list.
