In Asian languages, T and Th, D and Dh, C and Ch are different letters. When designing fonts and keyboards we usually assigned the aspirate Th to the capital T and the unaspirated T to the lowercase t since Asian Languages don't use capitals. From what you're saying, in your language, T when followe...

As I understand it, it is a only a matter of efficiency. Binary computers work fastest with binary numbers. Whenever the font is scaled for the display (when the user zooms in or zooms out in their application), a bitmap has to be calculated to dsiplay each character from the vector data in the TTF....

Unicode Ranges

Have you checked the Unicode ranges for the characters you added to the font?

Format, Settings, Ranges, Unicode Character Ranges, Edit and check the character set you have added characters in: e.g. Latin Extended Additional.

I tried the glyph transform tool very briefly. I was amazed at how fast it was, but the result was not usable on the first attempt. Like autotrace, it will take a good deal of experimenting to get the best results. It could be very powerful. I also noticed a problem with the GIF image here. It took ...

Try Font, Sort Glyphs, to see if that helps. You can use shift to select a range of glpyhs, and use the minus key on the numeric keypad to zoom out on the glyph overview, but 10,000 is still a lot of empty glyphs to delete. Where do people find these mega fonts?

I don't think you can, but what you can do is create a composite that uses another composite if you're trying to create a character like U+1EB7 : LATIN SMALL LETTER A WITH BREVE AND DOT BELOW

Perhaps that will solve your problem?

One can also use the measuring tool.

Another efficient method is to copy contours from one glyph to another, rather than drawing them again, and use composites wherever possible. I have used composites on … and on % and ‰ in some fonts.

Take a look at the Letter Database if you want to find out which characters are needed by which languages, or which languages use a particular character. My attitude is that once the letter forms have been created, adding diacritics is easy, though with script or swash fonts the placement is not as ...

Incorrect Directions

How odd :? I'm using the same fcp verson as Jowaco, but I do get the incorrect contour directions problem (Windows ME). Selectng all and reversing the directions doesn't help. Selecting a few contours in the top left and zooming to selected seems to cause problems with the screen redrawing. The outl...

I don't know about Excel, but Word allows you to assign shortcut keys to Unicode characters. This is done from the Insert Symbol menu. Download my PDF file Using Pali Fonts (575 K) for an explanation if you're not sure how to do this. The description is for ANSI fonts, but the same is true for Unico...

Verdana and Georgia in the Public Domain?

Someone in the Yahoo Pali group claims that these fonts are in the public domain. Pali scholars are usually honest, but I wonder if he is just misinformed. These fonts would be good for me to use because they are widely available and good quality.

Anybody have any definite information about this?
