Re: Unicode Support Joke

No wonder he got confused, combining diacritics are meant to go over letters not over punctuation. :)

Default Colour of background image

In Font Creator you can copy the current glyph into a background image and what a great feature this is, it simplifies the process of simplifying a glyph (many thanks to Bhikkhu for this great tip). One annoyance however is that it always defaults to black and I always have to set it to a colour dif...

Re: Can Fonts Be save as only a TTF font

Strangely Microsoft Word (2007 version) only does kerning if the font has a legacy kern table, even for OpenType fonts.

Re: Noob question about composite glyphs

I have been combining the glyphs too soon because I was under the misconception that overlapping composite contours was an error, but I have been trying to join them so that they look as if they were always meant to be part of the glyph. Yes it does make for more work, I am in the process of re-desi...

Re: Noob question about composite glyphs

I understand that it will cause errors if they are the wrong direction but if they are the correct direction I assume that they will not cause an error but Font Creator flags overlapping contours in composite glyphs as an error regardless of the directions. As mentioned in the manual: Not every pro...

Re: Noob question about composite glyphs

I have just looked at 'Times New Roman' in Font Creator, just out of curiosity. It has hundreds (quite literally > 250) overlapping composites. This is one of the most used fonts under windows, if overlapping composites caused problems wouldn't someone have noticed by now? Overlapping composites mus...

Re: Default Character Set?

You don't have to go through every single glyph. The glyphs which exist in your font will be the ones you create. You can leave gaps. If there are any extras you don't like just delete them. But why would you want to do this anyway, if a glyph exists and you don't use it then the only problem it cau...

Re: Curry

Thanks a lot.

I already had a bookmark for 'What the Font', now I have bookmarks for 'What Font is' and 'Font Matcherator'.

Also I know what font Morrisons curries use for their packaging. :D

Curry

Does anyone have any idea what this font is ? It's not important, I just thought it was an attractive font. What the Font comes up with five answers only two of which look remotely like the font. The two which do look something like ('Bhang Normal Bold' and 'Bardi Bold') are still not a good match. ...

Re: Reenable the font preview

Clicking on the eye works for me. The fonts switch between plain text and the font being represented.

One nice touch would be if the icon changed from an open to a closed eye, but this is just an idle suggestion, I'm sure Erwin has better things to do with his time. :)

Re: Kelvinch - a font for body text.

Sorry it has taken so long but here it is at long last. This is just Kelvinch Roman, the italic, bold and bold italic versions will follow shortly. Bhikkhu gave his kind permission for me to include some of the arrows, dingbats and geometric shapes from one of his fonts, many thanks to Bhikkhu. :D T...

Re: Licensing

I would like my font to become as widespread as it's merits will allow, I am not interested in the views expressed with the font because if they didn't use my font then they would use another. I am also happy with the GNU font exception because I have no issue with someone using my font as a tool to...
