Hi Dick, I realized that, but I am having difficulty figuring out how to name it. I would like the medium font to part of the same font family. So far if I get it on Windows to be recognized as the same family it gives me an error on the Mac that it's a duplicate font, and when I try to avoid the Ma...

AutoNaming to support Medium

Currently AutoNaming picks up the information from the Metrics tab in the font settings. This limits the choices to Bold, Italic, etc. It would be nice if it looked at the Classification Weight in the General tab in the font settings, too. This way it would give options for Medium, Semi-Bold, etc. I...

Hi Bhikkhu, Are you sure you understood my request? Maybe I wasn't clear or maybe there is an option in paste special I don't know about... Let's take for a example a glyph that is 50 wide. It has bearings that are 10 on each side that I don't want to keep. Now I paste it into a glyph that is 30 wid...

Selecting values

In Adobe InDesign when selecting a value you don't actually have to put your mouse in the value and physically select it. If you just click on the name of the value (for example click "Left side" under bearings) and it will automatically select the whole value and then you can type in what...

Copying glyphs

It would be nice to have the ability to copy glyph outlines, but still keep the bearings values of the destination glyph.

It works!

I don't know which of the exact things you mentioned caused it not to work. But now it works, thank you!

What do you mean by ready for production? Is there any reason why I should not delete them now?

Very interesting!

Would it be enough to just have someone with FontLab regenerate the fonts? I am going to be having a lot of these kind of fonts, so if FontLab won't do it I'll wait until I have all of them to send it to you.

Font not recognized by MAC

I have a font that I customized with FC and VOLT. It is a OT TT font. I sorted the glyphs, did some editing, and added OT tables plus many glyphs. It works perfectly with Windows without a hickup, however MAC will not recognize it. any ideas? It has Macintosh Roman, Microsoft BMP only, and Unidoce 2...

Nevermind, it seems to be working now. The problem is I was trying to use Auto-naming and it kept changing it back to regular. When I named it manually it worked.

Medium font?

How do I make a medium font. Under Format>Settings>Metrics>Font style there is no option for medium, and when I set it to regular it doesn't recognize it as a different font than my regular version.

Oh, I'm pasting from one font to the next. Is there any way to preserve hinting?

Hinting

When I paste glyphs from one font to the next does that remove hinting?

I see there's a capital H on the original font, but when I paste it into the new font the H is missing.
