Re: Creating a Opentype font for Brahmi
I don't have any Windows App that would render these fonts. PagePlus doesn't support these higher planes, and from what Vanisac says, LibreOffice doesn't support Uniscribe. He only said Uniscribe supports Graphite. He didn't say it *didn't* use Uniscribe. It certainly supports OpenType (on Windows ...

Auto-mapping sequential codepoints to sequential glyphs
When I'm working on Unicode proposals, I often have to put glyphs in the PUA for using inside my proposal document (as the characters are obviously not encoded yet). But it is a pain to open each consecutive glyph's properties, go to mapping, enter the next PUA value, and close and do this for each ...

[FIXED] Glyph properties > Mappings tab > Altl A not working
Glyph Properties > Mappings tab. We are allowed to enter the mapping value in the appropriate spinbox. The accelerator Alt V takes me to that spinbox. But once I have typed the value, the accelerator Alt A for "Add" does not add the mapping. Please fix this. Using FC 6.5 build 270. Thanks.

[FIXED]Import Image Threshold spinbox doesn't work correctly
In the Import Image dialog once we have specified the image to import, there is a threshold slider below the image, as well as a spinbox to the right of that slider which indicates the value of the threshold. If the slider is moved, the spinbox value changes. If the spinbox value is changed by the u...

Ctrl W for close tab
Hello. I think it would be useful for allowing the shortcut Ctrl W for closing the current tab. This is so in other applications (like Firefox, MS Word [current doc]) etc so it would be very useful for me. Thanks.

Re: Batch Import Image
Yes, it is already possible, and very fast. Just drag all of the files from Windows Explorer into the FontCreator Window and drop them into the first glyph in the series. Do a test first to see that you have all of the EPS files named and selected in the correct order. Beautiful! Thanks thanks than...

Batch Import Image
It would be great if FontCreator would provide a batch import image function. I have a set of 325 EPS files for a font, and it would be most efficient if FC would simply import them and make a series of glyphs in my font instead of my doing it one by one. AFAIK this is not currently possible which i...

Re: Advice on SVG to TTF conversions (already googled)
Hi thanks to the others who provided various ways of creating a circular contour. But my question was specifically about the Python Fontforge module (which I am calling from a script to mass-import SVGs into a TTF font) producing imperfect TTF circles from SVG circles. I realize this is the HL FontC...

Advice on SVG to TTF conversions (already googled)
Hello. In trying to convert the SVG files an artist friend of mine has drawn up for a font into TTF format, I did my homework, googled for SVG2TTF and have found http://tinkerhouse.net/log/python-fontforge-is-definitely-a-godsend/ and http://www.orakeldel.net/downloads/svg2ttf.py. The former actuall...

Re: About cloning a public domain typeface for Grantha
Hello people and thanks for the replies. @William -- please do inquire with British Library or other sources as to whether the type foundry exists etc. An article I read on Tamil typography seems to indicate that most of the old Tamil typefaces have been made in England (not surprising given the col...

About cloning a public domain typeface for Grantha
Hello. This is my first post on this forum. This is a general question about font creation so I am asking here. Hope it's appropriate. And yes I realize that for official legal advice I should hire a lawyer. This is just me trying to do some homework to know the background of the situation. I am wor...
