Re: Find the numbers of the missing glyphs

That is a subset of plane one which contains parts of several scripts, like Latin, Greek, Arabic, and Tibetan.

Re: Find the numbers of the missing glyphs

Unicode contains seventeen planes of 65,536 characters each, making a total of 1,114,112 possible codes. Plane 0 alone contains 4096! Plane 0, also known as Basic Multilingual Plane (BMP), contains way more characters. As of Unicode version 13.0 it holds 55,503 assigned characters. But I am afraid ...

Re: Non-transparent glyphs?

Actually I made a mistake, I only enabled:
Ligatures
Contextual Ligatures

While I should have enabled:
Ligatures
Contextual Alternates

Re: Non-transparent glyphs?

Thanks Erwin, I did read that link. However the color glyphs I'm using are all by themselves, not combined with anything else. EDIT: But I did go back and correct the metrics of each number to make them zero-width, and now they work. I don't totally understand why... I find color fonts confusing. B...

Do you overlay the color glyphs over regular "monochrome" glyphs?

Re: Non-transparent glyphs?

That looks like it might be a good solution to your problem. I am not sure if you already read the tutorial about color fonts: https://www.high-logic.com/font-editor/fontcreator/tutorials/create-opentype-color-fonts Pay extra attention to the metrics, as metrics of the base glyph and the color membe...

Re: Find the numbers of the missing glyphs

You might be able to use a fallback font, for example AdobeBlank, but it is probably better to only show characters that are available in the font.

Just like how MainType shows the character set. wakamaifondue also shows characters in groups.

Re: Find the numbers of the missing glyphs

This list is useful, but it is not very useful outside Font Creator and Maintype since, as with all other software of this type, the names are now only friendly names. They will vary according to the idea that the creators of these different tools have of them. Unicode contains seventeen planes of ...

Re: How to make a group of contours no-fill

It is all about the direction of the contours.

The manual has a topic about introduction of simple glyphs that explain it.

Since you have the professional edition, it is easiest to show the Validation toolbar (F7), as it has a button that fixes direction issues.

Re: MainType 11 32-bit rejected by Window 10 (Pro)

Something wrong with Window 10 more like. Just skip the warning since you know that it is from a safe source. No doubt Microsoft will catch up eventually. This is not the way I accept to install a professional app. Yesterday we received an email from Microsoft stating they expect to investigate thi...

Re: A real dark theme

We use themes that come with our software development environment, and even though we agree the current themes are far from perfect, we don't have the resources to make custom themes. There are several commercial themes, but even those do not qualify right now.

Re: Duplicate named fonts

As Bhikkhu Pesala already told you, it is not possible to determine which one is best, or if they are equal, without inspecting the inside of both fonts. Let me know if you see room for improvement in the article, I am a technician, not a writer ;-) You can either add them to MainType and see what f...

Re: Duplicate named fonts

There are many web pages that cover this topic, but most people don't understand what they are talking about, so most of that information is incorrect, and people continue to repeat that misleading information. Here is a topic that tries to explain the differences between font file extensions and in...
