Re: Load Background Image - resize doesn't repond

The background image dialogue box fields should respond to a press of the enter key, but they do not.

However, they do respond to a click on the spin button so you don't need to change the x,y values to apply a new scale.

Re: How to delete unnecessary symbols?

You can sort the font, and you can invert the selection from the edit menu after selecting the glyphs you want to keep (don't forget the .notdef glyphs and other essential glyphs at the start of the font).

Re: How to delete unnecessary symbols?

Select them in the glyph overview window using Shift Click or Ctrl Click, and press delete.

Re: MainType Update Wiped Out my Font Groups

I ran Ashampoo again, and that didn't cause the problem again. I then reinstalled from MainTypeSetup.exe (build 91) and checked for updates again. That didn't do it either, so I'm not sure what happened. Anyway, if it happens to anyone else, hopefully they will find this thread, and learn how to fix...

MainType Update Wiped Out my Font Groups

Not as terrible as it sounds, but it might alarm some users. From the Tools menu, Options, General, Groups, I had to browse to where my fonts are organised and change the default folder from: C:\Documents and Settings\Bhikkhu Pesala\My Documents\My Font Groups\ back to: C:\Documents and Settings\Bhi...

Re: Finding symbols

"DIGIT SEVEN" and "LATIN CAPITAL O" are the same in all Unicode fonts — they are the Unicode names for mapping purposes. The postscript names can be whatever you want but they should have no spaces e.g. "onequarter", not "one quarter." You can show the Postscr...

Re: *.ttf files after editing = double size o0?!

As I suspected, many of the glyphs in S60SC_C.ttf are composites, which will become simple glyphs when copied to another font.

You need permission to edit these fonts, which are the copyright property of Monotype Corporation.

Re: *.ttf files after editing = double size o0?!

Original file may contain many composite glyphs. If you copy them to another font they will become simple glyphs, so a lot of contours are duplicated. There is no easy way to recreate hundreds of Chinese glyphs as composites. Data for completing composites only exists for Latin glyphs and a few char...

Re: Press gray + key for double zoom?

Its not a matter of not believing you, if we're unable to reproduce it then that is all we can say. It could be a sticky keyboard, or some other utility unique to your system that is duplicating the key stroke. I seen no evidence of this behaviour here on FontCreator 6.1. I recommend updating if you...

A Font that Reboots my PC

This is not a bug in the font as far as I can tell, but I'm curious to know how a font can have such a dramatic effect. Extract the attached archive to a folder. Open default.hlml in Opera 10.50 or Chrome Iron My PC reboots immediately — other users report a BSOD. If you delete or move the font &quo...

Re: turkish cyrillic

If all you need to do is add a few glyphs with accents for glyphs that already exist in the font, you can do this very easily in the Home Edition. If you need to create entirely new glyphs, you can do that too, but they will lack hinting information. Save the original TNR font for backup purposes, u...

Re: Open Font, Rename and Save - Font is different

Obviously it is possible to paste a screenshot (shown by your post) however for some reason or other, it is not possible for me. I have tried now several times. Sorry to waste your time. I didn't paste it, I attached it, the same as you attached the Word document. Save your screen shot to a file fi...
