Use of Fontcreator glyphs

Greets,

I want to know if the glyphs that come with Fontcreator can be used in my own font. In this case I tweaked the 'dagger' a bit. I don't feel like starting from scratch though, so I wondered if the included glyphs can be used.

Thanks

Jonne

Re: Should I class a single glyph?

Thanks for the input, I didn't quite get it all but it's good to know that I can class one glyph without taking up space. Fast response as usual. I wondering about the pair adjustment number because I realized that FontCreator 10 won't kern on export if you have subtables too high. I'm keeping mine ...

Re: Should I class a single glyph?

Oh and where it says PairAdjustment1 and two numbers in parentheses, which is the actual number to be concerned with?

Should I class a single glyph?

Greets all, I'm beginning to class kern to save time and space and I wondered if it prudent to make the first of the pair a class even if there is only on glyph in the class. I'm still unable to bold from FontCreator to Word to printer, mysterious, please look into if you please. I'll supply any fil...

Re: How to make Subtables

Class kerning in Word.png My woe's continue and I can't make heads or tails of it. First the bolding. I tried what you said and printed out a font with no CALT features. It bolded small sizes once with no CALT features and it worked once more with CALT features, but then stopped working altogether....

Re: How to make Subtables

Erwin First off, WOW thanks for doing all that work on my font. You've said you used some class based kerns, I've opened it in FontCreator but I don't see any classes. Did you intend for me to make classes and see if they work with your file? When you say you made some class based kerns, does this m...

Re: How to make Subtables

Erwin and company, I'll have to get the hang of copying and pasting kerns into subtables. I'm more concerned with my inability to print bold in fonts created by FontCreator. I'm using Word 2013 and it can print bold, I've tried with other fonts it just won't work for FontCreator fonts. I've uninstal...

Re: How to make Subtables

Erwin and company, Thanks for your help. I would like to limit my subtables to 10000 kerns or less and I saw your illustration Erwin. I had already made the extra subtables, I just don't know how to populate them from Subtable 1 which holds all the kerns. I would like to know if this is possible in ...

How to make Subtables

Hey Erwin and company,

I read somewhere on your site that you recommend having subtables of 16000 kerns. I have a font with 51000 kerns. How do I make the subtables and why is this recommended?

Thankyou

Jonne

PS - Running version 9.1

Re: CFF Format Support for FontCreator 9.1 Please!

An update on my issue as Erwin has worked on my font...

It appears to be an issue with acrobat and how it renders on monitors because when I print, my kerns are perfect.

Thanks goes out to Erwin for his swift response to my issue.

Blessings,

Jonne

Re: CFF Format Support for FontCreator 9.1 Please!

P.S.

You've seen an example of my font from a screen shot of my cursive font in FontCreator...That's how it's supposed to look, no edges on the kerning between letters so you know that, at least in the FontCreator and Word, I've kerned correctly in my mind.

Thanks

Re: CFF Format Support for FontCreator 9.1 Please!

Thanks for getting back to me Erwin, I have news to update my last post which impugned Word as looking bad in TTF format. I take that back. In Word 2013 my cursive font looks fine...it's when I export the font to pdf and read it with Adobe Acrobat Reader DC that makes the font look bad. So I simply ...

Re: CFF Format Support for FontCreator 9.1 Please!

Hey Bhikkhu, The reason I wish to use CFF is because of something that is not the fault of FontCreator but that of Word. When I send a document to someone with my font I have to send it pdf and Word does a terrible job kerning TTF formatted documents but does a pretty good job with the CFF format. T...

× CFF Format Support for FontCreator 9.1 Please!

Erwin, I have version FontCreator 9.1.1991 and am no longer able to export or install with the CFF format because of a security release by microsoft and Windows 10 being incompatible (I am running 8.1 but those I wish to sell my font to will have windows 10). I respectfully request an update so that...
