Re: Wickednesse
I'm back! Got totally sidelined with other things in my life for months, but finally got back into the swing of things with my font, and just edited my original post with the latest version of it, along with revised screenshots -- and also a couple questions in that edited post, too. Look forward to...

Re: Getting my ducks in a row
Well, when I've had to manually insert PUA glyphs in the past, I never even bothered with that anyway. I could never remember the codes off-hand, and would have to go look up whichever character I was looking for either in charmap or MainType -- and if I'm in there anyway, then I might as well just ...

Re: Getting my ducks in a row
Oh, thank you for your kind words, :) but from your reply I think perhaps I'm still not quite being clear what I meant. It's not how to insert whichever lig (manually -- not via OT features) that I was hoping to address here, but rather just the ability to find the correct ligature that you're looki...

Re: Getting my ducks in a row
You should be able to move the ligs up or down, in the 'Lookup' table. That's not what I mean. ;) Here's what I mean... Imagine you're a designer, you like to make use of the extra ligs'n'stuff in fonts, but your software doesn't make use of OT features and so the ligs don't appear automatically, a...

Re: Getting my ducks in a row
Well, I suppose that in light of the lack of response to my query here, there isn't really an answer to this -- at least, I guess the only way to do what I was thinking would be to get one's ligs all nicely in order (alphabetical, or however one might want to arrange them) before you do your kerning...

Re: Getting my ducks in a row
Oh, it just occurred to me that if I was to do this -- i.e. put my various ligs into some nicer (more alphabetical) order -- I guess I would have to do that before I do all my kerning and stuff, otherwise I would screw everything up. Right? Well, that throws a bit of a wrench into my thought here. O...

Getting my ducks in a row
So here I am, plugging away at my font, occasionally discovering new ligs I need to make for it 'n' stuff, and now I have 235 (and counting!) glyphs in my PUA, over 100 of which are various ligatures. When I look at them -- and, eventually, when anyone will look at my font (in charmap or whatever) -...

Re: Insert... Confusion
Oh, never mind -- I see you added in a screenshot to your previous reply. Ha ha -- that answers my question (even if I don't understand it).
EDIT: That seems to have worked (as, no doubt, you knew it would). Thanks again, Bhikkhu!

Re: Insert... Confusion
Awesome, thanks, Bhikkhu! At least, I'm half-way through doing so. In the Paste Special dialog box there's also an Anchors checkbox -- I'm not even sure what that is. Is that a reference to things like lig lookups or whatever? If so, I guess I don't need that for this particular character. Also in t...

Insert... Confusion
I'm confused. So I'm working on my blackletter font (which has turned into a major research project -- ugh!), which had an alternate "r" character, and I just discovered that there's actually a name for that -- R-rotunda. Apart from a bunch of ligatures that I've made that make use of it, ...

Re: Help with ligatures, etc.
Never mind, I think I may have discovered the reason (and solution) for all my confusion -- my stupid bearings are off on a whole pile of my ligatures. D'oh.
Sorry for putting you all through that.

Re: Help with ligatures, etc.
Okay, I'm trying very hard to do this kerning thing right this time -- I think it was a combined effort of miscommunication on Bhikkhu's part and misunderstanding on my part in why I went off in the wrong direction with this before. In entering into this (as a newbie) I assumed -- perhaps naively, b...

Re: Wickednesse
Hey, Bern, thanks so much for your comments and kind words about my font! Yeah, you're probably right about my Cyrillic, but I haven't got the first clue about that -- let alone Greek/Coptic (other than being familiar with some of the more "popular" characters, like pi and omega or whateve...

Re: Extra fi and fl ligs?
So I guess I can just delete them, without any worries that some users out there might run into issues of some sort?
