Re: Superscript section
In Unicode there is a block dedicated to Musical Symbols at $1D100 to 1D1FF.
Just thought I'd mention it.

Sans Mateo
This sans serif font originally started out as a stripped down version of Bainsley but simplified and completely redrawn. I just needed a testbed font to try out some new ideas with open type. But after a while I realised that it looked a lot like a bland sans serif just like the thousands of bland ...

Re: Question about Smoothing
Nobody answered my question, not even Erwin, which was disappointing. :( So I went to the Ttfautohint website and read the documentation, which is long and dull for the most part. I still don't know how the numbers are generated but that is not important. The main question I had was if ttfautohint g...

Re: Creating a font for a book I am publishing
You could use Inkscape to create .SVG versions of the glyphs and embed those in your book. SVG is scalable.
Or you could supply a friendly creator of free fonts with the drawings of your glyphs to embed in one of his free fonts.

Question about Smoothing
I have a question about smoothing in Font Creator. When I go to the Smoothing section of font properties and press the ' Generate ' button it comes up with an arbitrary set of numbers and with smoothing for both standard and clear type. I was wondering how these numbers are arrived at and if the ' t...

Re: Union of curves
Sorry I wasn't much help. It may seem like a lot of work but you could get the program to log errors like this either in the project file or in a separate log file stored somewhere. Then when the program generates an error message it would log the error along with any diagnostic information you thin...

Re: Union of curves
I have attached the font file but I don't know how useful it will be to you. It has been modified and saved many times since that error occurred. The error seems to happen infrequently and randomly. Sometimes it is the illegal midpoint call, sometimes the program just says this is too complex and do...

[CLOSED] Union of curves
Sometimes when trying to merge contours I get an error message.
Re: Bainsley
I probably could have made it smaller but this is the file I uploaded to the ' Local Fonts ' website. It has to be comprehensive because most people who download it won't have a font editor and so won't be able to covert a .OTF file into a webfont. The project files are for anyone with Font Creator ...
Re: Bainsley
What was the difficulty ? Local Fonts is a site which sells fonts but I can become a vendor and set the price to zero but you still have to go through the process of 'buying' the font for a price of £0.0, the owner of the site says he does nothing with all the information he collects but I'm not sur...
Re: Bainsley
On the suggestion of someone from Type Drawers I have reduced the space width.
Bainsley
Well folks, it's finally here. This font has been delayed too long. It should have been finished early last year but 2020 didn't exactly go according to plan and a lot of other stuff happened which brought home the fact that font design is pretty insignificant in the grand scheme of things. But I'm ...

Armenian Preview
If anyone is interested in spacing the Armenian alphabet I have attached the current preview text I am using. The Armenian is at the end.
