Paste a single glyph to multiple codepoints
Not sure why this isn't set up currently. - Copy a single glyph (such as .notdef) - Select a set of glyphs - Paste - Have the .notdef glyph fill ALL the glyphs [/list] Currently the paste function only fills the first glyph. That means that in order to fill large swaths of empty glyphs, you must pas...

Re: Selling fonts?
Fonts are software, so you generally need to license it the same way you would license any other piece of software. It's a lot of work, but part of the process in making fonts available for sale is to write the license agreements for different usages. You can see the different types of usages and th...

Re: Export html namelist
While I appreciate the thought,
That's not acceptable for inclusion in a professional typeface store.

Export html namelist
Hi everyone This is a stretch, but it's based on a whole lot of work that I did today. I spent today building character maps for our online font store. In order to do this, I needed to generate a list of only those glyphs that a font used, with their references in an acceptable html format. Since Fo...

Re: Font install not updating unless remove DSIG or original font
No. If i'm wrong, then that means I can improve our software, but I'm afraid that I've tried all things one can imagine the last 18 years I develop font software for Windows. If there's any other information I can provide, please let me know what you need. As of now, the issue is corrected by using...

Re: Font install not updating unless remove DSIG or original font
It just won't work to install an updated version of your font, as long as the old version is still used by Windows or other software. Only closing all other software prior to uninstalling the older version will work. Otherwise you will need to uninstall then reboot and then install the new version....

Font install not updating unless remove DSIG or original font
Good morning I'm having a problem with fonts exported from Fontcreator 8.x Standard. After I export my font to .ttf and install it, the revised version of the font isn't available in any applications. Likewise, when I double click the font to install it again, the date listed is the date of the orig...

Re: Minus sign $2212 sourced from Plus, not Hyphen-Minus
For anyone looking for the fix, on Line 21929 of CompositeData.xml, change 43 to 45. I would not recommend this. The definition for Plus Minus also includes a line for getting the glyph metrics from glyph 43 (plus), so the width of the Plus Minus glyph will then change to match the advance width of...

Re: Wipe ttf from css when expanding woff to other formats using online tools
After spending too much time emptying .ttf files out of webfont zips and rewriting the css appropriately, it occurred to me that it's unlikely a web designer can design for web without a copy of the font installed in their desktop for use with Photoshop for example. I've posted a question about the ...

Re: Wipe ttf from css when expanding woff to other formats using online tools
Thanks Erwin
I'm going to go ahead and strip the ttf out of the zip and css.
That will leave eot, svg, woff, and woff2, maximizing compatibility without allowing public font extraction.

You guys are way too smart for me.
Where is the code you quoted? That part goes over my head.

[NO BUG] Minus sign $2212 sourced from Plus, not Hyphen-Minus
Is it a bug that minus sign $2212 (a key component of $B1 Plus Minus and $F7 Divided By) uses the Plus sign ($2B) as its source, not Hyphen-Minus ($2D)?
Because it certainly bugs me!
For anyone looking for the fix, on Line 21929 of CompositeData.xml, change 43 to 45.
Happy hunting!

Wipe ttf from css when expanding woff to other formats using online tools
I saw Bhikku's response about using online tools to pad out the font-face webkit beyond just .woff http://forum.high-logic.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=5366&p=24126&hilit=woff#p24126 Question - if we're offering webfonts so as to restrict use to webfont only, doesn't that mean we should strip...

Re: What Unicode Characters to Include for most Latin alphabets
Today I've started looking at pro fonts like Adobe Caslon Pro and Adobe Gothic Std and it's surprising how few glyphs they use. Caslon pro has only 369 glyphs, with on 5 Latin B, 9 Spacing modifier, no Combining diacritics, and 1 greek / coptic (pi). Adobe Gothic Std has thousands of glyphs (mostly ...

Re: Setting License Agreement field for multiple EULAs
The way I'm doing it is to have one ttf file in 6 zip files. Each zip file has the same ttf with a different PDF license. Each zip file is priced differently in the store, and your purchase receipt is your proof of ownership - the PDF is only there for information. The next stumbling block I'm at: I...
