Italicizer Maquette font
Italicizer Maquette font Here is a font that I have made today. I refer to a post by me in a thread in the Unicode mailing list. http://www.unicode.org/mail-arch/unicode-ml/y2019-m01/0018.html This font is a maquette to try out the idea. I have encoded the special character at U+EA60 (it is Alt 6000...

Re: Size of the glyph
An important thing to know is that in Windows based systems (I don't know one way or the other about other systems) when one chooses a particular point size in an application program, the point size is only from the baseline upwards. So in a font where the lower part of g j p q y goes below the base...

Re: Historical forms and historical ligatures
That really is good.
Thank you for pointing it out both here and in the Affinity Publisher forum.
I have downloaded a copy of your Lekhana font and I am trying it out.
Thank you.

Historical forms and historical ligatures
In the thread https://forum.high-logic.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=7824 MikeW mentions historical forms. I have it in mind to suggest in the Affinity Publisher forum that historical ligature ligature become included in the Affinity Publisher program. Thus far I have found that there appear to be two...

Re: Alternate ligature glyphs
Well I searched for aalt and found some code that I had written some years ago. https://forum.high-logic.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=4314&p=20480#p20458 Yet the next post in that thread advise me to use salt instead of aalt. I clearly need to read up on it, because I have just tried to make a fo...

Alternate ligature glyphs
The following thread shows the basis of the problem. https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/76232-ligature-capability/ The following thread is interesting background but probably not essential. https://forum.high-logic.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=7815 A gentleman writing in the Affinity P...

Previewing ligature glyphs
Suppose that one is designing a ligature glyph for an OpenType font, for example a ct ligature with c_t as the glyph name, but no code point assigned. Suppose that one wishes to preview the design in the Preview panel, by pressing p on the highlighted glyph cell while in glyph overview mode. Alas, t...

Re: Is .notdef required or not?
I presume those are the only "empty" glyphs (or non-glyphs -- since there is no actual glyph) that a font should have, eh? The space character does not usually have any contours in it, but it does need a codepoint, namely hexadecimal 20, and it does need an advance width so that every tim...

Re: I am trying to make a font with some stylistic alternates
Here is a PDF document which contains a poem that I have written which shows the font in action. white.pdf What is really good about the Serif Affinity Publisher Beta program is that the PDF document produced is such that although three ligatures and two stylistic alternates are used, copying the te...

Re: I am trying to make a font with some stylistic alternates
Here is the font.
This font not only has some ligatures but also two stylistic alternates for lowercase e, intended for the ends of (some) lines in poetry, which stylistic alternates are not ligatures.

I am trying to make a font with some stylistic alternates
I am trying to make a font with some stylistic alternates. It is a test for trying out the Serif Affinity Publisher program. I have thus far made one post in the following thread. https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/75641-copying-text-out-of-a-pdf-document-when-the-font-has-opentype-li...
