That's a good point. Maybe an option for a minimum amount of characters would be good. For example only fonts that have at least five mathematical characters etc.

I see now why a filter would make more sense. Sorting doesn't exclude any fonts, whereas a filter only displays certain fonts. In this case I want to exclude all fonts that don't have a certain character set, so a filter would be proper.

Yes, a filter would be great! (Not quite as easy as just clicking the tab in the Fonts pane, but that's OK).

When you say it would keep MainType busy, do you mean it would take a lot of time to process that kind of a filter?

Definitely, my suggestion is not limited to Hebrew. It was just an example. What I mean by character sets is in the characters pane there is a drop down where you can choose Basic Latin, Greek & Croptic, Hebrew, etc. I would like to be able to sort the fonts by which have which sets. For example...

Filter Fonts by Character Set

First let me say, just like FontCreator, MainType is a superb program for a reasonable price, thank you.

I work almost exclusively with Hebrew. It would be real nice if there was a way to sort the fonts so that all fonts that have a Hebrew character set would be sorted together.

Maybe i misread the link, but you seemed to be talking about changing the em value woithout changing the actual font. Iwould like to have all font characters become 4-5 points smaller.

Unbelievable, I finally figured out what I was doing wrong. I was using Adobe Type Manager Deluxe, and I had forgotten to remove the font and replace it after editing. So none of my editing was coming through. It still was using the old font. Now I just edited the space acharacter and the hyphen and...

Space too big in font

I have font that I am currently using with a charactrer style within body text. There are three things that are really bothering me about this font. 1) It's always 4-5 points bigger than the other fonts, in other words when this font and for example Times are set to 13 pts this font is about 4-5 poi...

I'm sorry I know it has been almost forever since I posted this. It would normally be typed in this order: letter, vowel, cantallation mark. But does that mean it must be typed in that order? I don't see why, since in the end the cantallation mark and vowel are both either above or below the letter.

Cantallation Marks

With Biblical Hebrew you have three differnet kinds of gyphs. The letter, the vowel, and the cantallation marks. Sometimes the kerning pair of a letter and a vowel would have to be changed if there is a cantallation mark under the letter. Would there be anyway to do this with Font Creator?

Thank you very much for the reply Bhikkhu, Sorry, I meant Font Creator, after searching the web for a good font editor for over an hour and comparing the features the names start to get a little foggy  I noticed when searching the forum that there are people creating Hebrew fonts, but are thos...

Font Studio and Hebrew Fonts

I just came across Font Studio and it looks very promising. I am a typesetter and I often need to change the kerning of fonts. I work mainly with Hebrew fonts. Is Font Studio the right program? Should I go for the Professional Edition? How does it compare to TypeTool from FontLab?
