Re: Maximum height for font
There is a range within the font specification that you should not exceed. It is expressed as the white area within a glyph panel. The top should not exceed 16K and the bottom should not go below -16K. Note that there might be font renderers that cause problems even with lower values. FontCreator us...

Re: Issue when using boolean operations with cubic contours that have overlapping handles
Confirmed. This issue will be fixed with the next upcoming release. But there will probably remain some rare cases where it fails.

Re: Maximum height for font
I suggest to keep the top of your outlines below the upem value. If your outlines also go below the baseline then you might want to further reduce the top to ¾ upem. But best is to experiment and find a good setting for your specific font. Some more information that might help: https://www.high-logi...

Re: Auto-load font folder on startup
You can add a font folder to MainType's libray and let it periodically synchronize it. Then when it finds new fonts in the folder, MainType will automatically install them.

Re: Adapt to Chinese handwritten characters
The vertical position should be how you draw the outlines, but the horizontal position is something that is calculated by Scanahand.
We might consider your suggested adaption if more people want such enhancement.

Re: Ligatures - two simple questions
A ligature is used as a replacement of two or more glyphs. What you describe related to cursive attachment, but that is not meant for Latin based characters. However, it might be worth a try to upload an illustration or screenshot of what you try to achieve. Or upload a reduced version of your font,...

Re: New ligatures not working correctly
You should combine the two lookups into one.
Easiest is to open Ligature1 in the code editor (in fea mode) and then copy the "sub"lines.
Next open the other lookup in the code editor and paste the lines, and recompile.
That should merge the two, so then you can delete Ligature1.

Re: New ligatures not working correctly
I see two lookups with ligatures, so I suspect the first one has applied the rule to substitute at three -> at_three.liga Then your second lookup no longer has a match for at three h . I assume both lookups have mostly identical substitutions, so most likely deleting lookup Ligature1 solves the prob...
